Sorry about your aunt, mate
I agree this is a fucked up world when things like that happen to certain people. The worst thing is you don't even know why you get cancer or anything (unless you get it in the lungs for smoking or something). I wouldn't wish that not even to my worst enemy, but sometimes makes you wonder why good people gets it. That indeed is fucked up
Again, sorry for your aunt and I hope everything works for the best.

but my question is: everyone knows we (all the people) fuck up this enviroment we live in with our gasses and all that. but could this really be a reason for the more and more people getting cancer? could just be that we now know what 'cancer' is and we can diagnose it and detect it better than in the past when maybe it was misdiagnosed or missed completely. sorry to hear about ur aunt.

cancer is about attitude, especially when terminal
it's a choice about making the most of the time one has left, or digging a hole and climbing into it. They're going to live an entire lifetime in whatever short time they have left. It's about embracing this opportunity...
still, in situations like this, you want to be careful. If you're someone who would have rarely visited the patient before they got sick, be careful not too come over too strong, if you weren't there before, they won't want you around too much now. What they need is those who they're used to, and have built up bonds with being there a lot.
and my other piece of advice for visiting people suffering from cancer, be aware how tired they get (ESPECIALLY if they're undergoing chemo-therapy of any sort) They won't let on how tired they are, and may not even notice how tired they are until after, but when the visitors leave, they're absolutely jaded, and the people who live with them have to pick up the pieces. Short visits are much wiser.
just my two cents, and Eggy i'm very sorry to hear about your aunt

eggy, wow all the ppl above said lots of good things..
~well the ppl from the Human Genome project have identified the genetic markers almost for all cancers. apparently we all have the chance if getting cancer.. ~But the one researcher used this analogy "Just because you have 100 music cds, does not mean you have to play them all !" ~Lifestyle is a factor (diet, exercise), *****environmental factors are always in question (i.e. our food is contaminated.), GENETICS huge risk factor, stress, etc. I will pray for your aunt. I mean that. what a HUMBLING reminder this is for us all. God bless. This is your mom's sister ? she is so many things to ppl , a friend, a mom perhaps, an aunt... wow... ps you PM me anytime.. Tam
