OASIS are secretly putting together a new rock supergroup — and they’ve hired RINGO STARR’s son on drums. ZAK STARKEY will join NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER and guitarist GEM ARCHER, to do a one-off charity gig. THE WHO’s ROGER DALTREY and STEREOPHONICS singer KELLY JONES are also set to perform. Zak, who is to tour with The Who, is a huge fan of Oasis and rang Noel to offer his services. He has spent the last two days rehearsing with the Gallagher brothers and Gem in a north London studio. An Oasis source said: “Zak has been desperate to play with Oasis for a while. He’s a big fan — and they’re big BEATLES fans — so everyone is happy. “Zak is an excellent drummer and he learned the ropes from the late KEITH MOON from The Who when he was a young lad. “It should be an amazing night — but I pity the Stereophonics. They are having to go on stage after that — that’s no mean feat.” Liam and Co are supporting the Stereophonics at London’s Royal Albert Hall on March 30. THE CORAL and TOM JONES will also be performing during a week of fundraising which includes a cream of British comedy night with STEVE COOGAN as Alan Partridge with Little Britain jokers MATT LUCAS and DAVID WALLIAMS. All proceeds from the gigs will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust. The annual concerts — which have raised £2million to date — were the brainchild of Daltrey, who is a patron of the trust. He said: “It is fantastic that we have another line-up of exceptional shows.”

Sounds good. I wonder if they're lining starkey up to play drums for them once he finishing touring with the Who. You can bet there'll be a lot of bootleggers there hoping to catch some new material.

from oasisinet
Contrary to reports in the UK press today Oasis will not be participating in this year’s Teenage Cancer Trust concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
They have played the event in the past but although big supporters of the TCT could not take part this year due to studio commitments. They hope the event is as successful is it has been in previous years.
im suprised they even bothered to tell us

Thats confusing ?
from XFM online:
Noel and Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, the Manic's James Dean Bradfield and ex-Beatle Ringo Starr's son Zak are joining forces to form a supergroup playing the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.
The supergroup will play on the March 30 date of the five-night event organised by Daltrey and Pete Townsend from The Who to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.
So far the group - which Xfm Online can reveal has been named Trust - will include Daltrey, the Gallagher brothers, Oasis guitarist Gem Archer, Paul Weller, The Manic Street Preachers' James Dean Bradfield and Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey – a renowned session drummer himself – who has spent the last two days rehearsing with the band in a north London studio.
The group will be splitting up vocal duties for a selection of songs on the night which will be headlined by the Stereophonics.
Also appearing at the event are The Coral, Tom Jones, Dave Gilmour, Solomon Burke, Jools Holland, Marc Almond, Mica Paris, Ruby Turner and The Who themselves, who will be performing the whole of their rock opera ‘Tommy’.
There’s also a British comedy night, compered by Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge featuring Little Britain’s Matt Lucas and David Walliams plus a rare live set from The Rutles.
Previous events have featured appearances from Eddie Vedder, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Richard Ashcroft, Doves, Supergrass and Ash and have raised over £2 million for the charity.
The current line-up details are as follows:
The Who play ‘Tommy’ + guests (March 29) Stereophonics + guests (30) ‘The Cream Of British Comedy’ hosted by Alan Partridge (31) Jools Holland, David Gilmour, Solomon Burke, Marc Almond, Ruby Turner and Mica Paris (1) Tom Jones + guests (April 2) Tickets are available from the Royal Albert Hall Box Office on 0207 589 8212 and the TCT Hotline on 0870 143 2201.

The Sun probably came out with the info so that's probably why its inaccurate.
from NME.com
OASIS have reportedly been rehearsing with RINGO STARR’s son on drums.
The group, who are without a drummer following the departure of Alan White earlier this year, are said to be trying out Zak Starkey behind the kit.
According to The Sun, Noel and Liam, guitarist Gem Archer and Starkey were set to support Stereophonics when they play a charity gig in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust at the London Royal Albert Hall later this month (March 30). Not true, say the band's management.
A statement from the band reads: "Contrary to reports in the UK press today Oasis will not be participating in this year's Teenage Cancer Trust concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
"They have played the event in the past but although big supporters of the TCT could not take part this year due to studio commitments. They hope the event is as successful as it has been in previous years."
Oasis are set to go back into their own studio shortly to continue work on the follow-up to ’Heathen Chemistry’. Death In Vegas, who produced early sessions for the record, will not be producing
