you can find a winamp plug in to play it www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=131643ATTENTION people with extremely sensitive hearing don't read the following you can convert the flac to mp3 with any music converter for example dbpoweramp and the flac plug in www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-flac.htmoh yeah, there will be a LOT of quality loss blah blah blah I personally don't care I rather have a whole show for the same size than a couple of songs

why convert flac to mp3? you can burn it straight to audio cd with nero and other burning programs with the correct plugin (http://www.cole2k.net/?display=NPI) and u can listen direct with winamp, foobar2000 and just about any other audio player. if you _really_ need to convert to mp3, please don't share the files! :-).

IMO:
why convert? cos they ridiculously huge files and a waste of disk space. and I don't burn all the gigs, I like to have them in my pc, so I don't see the point of having a 30 MB file for a 3min song

i have a led zeppelin gig in flac format. 12 songs around 350 mb. it's pointless. why bother "compressing" (to flac) when you can keep the original (also lossless) wav recording instead..doesnt make too much of a difference in terms of disk space

I need some more help with these flacs things. I can't put the songs on Itunes... what do I have to do? and I can't burn them either Well I dont use itunes, its the work of the devil. But anyway thats a whole other issue. But you can covert them to another format which itunes or other media players will play. If you convert them to mp3, the person who made the recording and every other audio geek on the 'net will probably find out where you live and come around and put your windows in. So they would probably tell you to convert them to wav format which most media players will play. I use a converter called dBpower converter, which will convert flacs to wav, wma or mp3. Its free and pretty easy to use. Failing that, you can just play the flacs using winamp I think.

If you convert them to wav, there will be no loss in quality. If you convert them to mp3 there will be, thats why audio buffs get so anal about it. But if you convert them to a high bitrate mp3 your ear wont really hear any difference, the whole point of mp3 is it is supposed to cut out all the noise your ear doesnt "hear" in order to make the file smaller. Of course this all depends of the quality of the original recording though.

You have to place it in the instalation folder (i.e. C:/Program Files/Winamp/Plugins)
look in properties [(ctrl+p) / File types] there's a list of extenssions and check that flac is there
