well I already went and ordered them last night, but I too first saw them in the apple shop where they were $170 but I used the macworld link to product search and found them for $113 with free shipping. They should arrive within a week and after much testing I will report back.

Alright so I got them last night and I got them all hooked up and tested. I put them through a very strenuous sound check playing all types of music through them a little rock, classic rock, jazz, blues, and yes a little rap (just to test the sub woofer). And they're amazing the best feater being the woofer. The two satellites are amazing and have crystal clear sound, but the base steals the show. I was playing some Who to test the clarity and it was amazing I herd stuff that was going on that I didn't know was there at first amazing clarity but still has the ability to kick a hole in the floor, things started to fall of my desk from the vibration, I of course had the base all the way up. The woofer was a base knob that allows you to adjust between a wide range of options for all types of music. One very cool feature the satellites have is a touch sensitive volume button, where you don't need to press anything just hold you finger over it. Then I of course had to max out the volume so I turned the computer volume all the way up and the speaker and base volume up and no clarity was lost and fortunately nothing was blown out.
In short they fucking rock.

never thought bout putting them thru a rigorous sound ck but you're the "techy" haha...
you are so right... when I listen to beatles, floyd etc. or other bands that add those everyday environmental sounds - you can hear it all...
happy you are pleased with your newest purchase !
harmon kardon - quality all the way !
* need to "rig " the rest of my place up for sound !
