Hey guys, I know this isn't the usual kind of thing that gets talked about here but thought I would just ask.
Okay, long story short, me and a few friends of mine are making a short film. Nothing that will keep Spielberg up at night, but we thought fuck it, we'd have a go.
As it is we're shooting on digital video and my mate is going to the editing on his Mac with iMovies.
However he has been going about this Final Cut Pro programe, which allows you do lots of other, funky stuff with the footage and just as importantly the soundtrack. Now, if anyone knows of a place where this programme (which as I understand goes for an arm and a leg brand new) can be got on the cheap or has a spare copy of it they don't want or could burn, would be happy to pay postage or whatever.
I know is a strange one, but if anyone can offer any help then would be much, MUCH appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

im using FCP for my uni course in media production - its a really simple advanced editing program - very similar to Adobe Premiere which i also use... it does go for a lot of money, possibly file share to get the prog if peeps are sharing it - i cant use any file sharin but would also be intersted in the program - except i dont have a mac at the mo for the soundtrack, we use Pro Tools, which is a very easy to use sound editing software - more advanced to use with additional creative sound, rather than using FCP or any other video editing softw. i have used imovie, and FCP is more advanced and proffessionally recognised, but imovie is just as good - i think its all down to the editor really - its how they use the footage creatively rather than the software they use. different/advanced software just has different options - but they all have the same standard tools. just my opinion there. good luck with your project www.media-production.co.uk$
