DVDs Prob (Read 232 times)

sooo. i recorded oasis manc on a dvd and i was in my laptop happily encoding to avi

then my laptop shut down -for no reason, but i noticed heat ripples from the back of it.

the dvd was too hot to touch, and my laptop was also extremely hot

now the dvd is recognised in the dvd recorder it was recorded in, but not my laptop - so whats gone wrong.
other dvds&cds work.

any help would be great - just trying it to see if it works in this PC.....

man! whats the speed of dvd disc and speed of your dvd player?

errr...it was only reading the disc, (was encoding vob to avi)
but laptop speeds, not the fastest around! but the dvd was to hot to touch when it ejected.

the disk is an 8x single layer dvd, written on in a liteon 5005 dvd recorder -

managed to get a backup copy of the whole disk on another PC, so ill write the disk again and see if that disk works....

i may also, try and do summit about the heat of my laptop, it was frighteningly hot, also have an external harddrive next to it that gives out heat, so maybe a bit of external cooling? ?
