Anybody know of any decent *FEEE* dvd buring software so that the film can be watched on a household dvd player. Ive only got nero and that just burns it as a data disc.

you've obviously got a dodgy version of nero as ive got the full version and its the best bit of software you can get it'll do everything you can think of convert any file format to dvd rip dvd to most formarts create menu structures ,screens anything you want really not to sure where you get a decent one for free though  |

hmm, i have the decent one. it came free with my laptop which cost a fair amount. ill have another look.

what sorta probs do you get tryin to play the dvd back - does it just say its a data disk?

well it says i can only burn if its a vob or ifo file, so how can i burn an mpeg/divx file, to a dvd so it is playable on a dvd player?

if you want straight 1 video to dvd no chapters or editing then you can use vsoDivxToDVD which will convert your video to vob files, then youd just burn the video_ts folder to a dvd as a data disk.....
if you want more than one video then you'll need additional software - i have yet to find a good freeware program for dvd authorising....

thats because you havnt got the full nero package installed if you got nero installed from a proper version that came with your laptop, go to the officail nero site and there should be some updates and extra applicationss you can download what you want is Nero Vison Express 3 (maybe higher now) and nero recode have a look here www.nero.com/eng/nero-prog.phpthere only trial versions but i can probably pm you the key gen for it all as long as they let you upgarde to the full version from the trial if you know what i mean  |

As long as youve got nero recode installed as part of the package you can i have an option on nero startsmart which says convert dvd to nero digital which basically lets you rip any part of the dvd to an file i beleive it rips it to an Mp4 file which is becoming the standard now and will play in windows media play the same as an mpeg/avi file although if youd rarther have an avi file there are millions of free avi converts out there |

sorry for bringing this up again but i'm burning a dvd here and i was gonna ask what the best software is, then i saw this thread and inverstigated nero. i used a bittorrent page to download it and i got it in 2 minutes!
