I actually think if BE had been the first album, people would have been suitably intrigued to hear more. Nowhere near as successful as AYW, but I think the reviews would’ve been kinder and it may have had more legs sales-wise. But DGSS was so embarrassing that it left a bad stink over Beady Eye as a whole.

Oh, if I’m allowed Dead in the Water, put that at the end and take off While the Song Remains the Same.

Both albums will have come from acoustic tracks and the producers have built the tracks round them..that’s what will have happened with Noel’s especially .Liams will have been guidance with keys etc Noel’s said repeatedly that’s the one thing he didn’t do on this album.

I was not especially looking forward to this one as “Dark, menacing” Noel tends not to do it for me. But it’s become my favourite. It’s an absolute blinder.

The interludes remind me of the instrumentals on the Berlin-era Bowie stuff. I do think though, as Noel said, the first one is in the wrong place on the album.

Solo act, in all but name. Like Simply Red. EXACTLY like Simply Red.

That’s the first Liam dig I’ve found genuinely funny for a while. Top work.

Liam’s Twitter makes me cringe and recoil. And yet I can’t stop watching it. It’s like Naked Attraction. Or Trump's presidency… At least that’s guaranteed to come to an end.

Yeah, he didn’t. I suspect Noel’s either not done his research, or has and is feigning ignorance.

I suppose he does keep getting asked about Liam’s album. It’s tiresome, but like every other aspect of promo, he has to play the game. I think given the choice he’d rather tell us about drinking with Bono or do the “revolutionary” line again. But clearly no one gives a flying f—k about that.

Noel should stop saying that Liam doesn’t write his own songs. But then there’s a lot of stuff they should probably both stop saying.

Whether Adele’s any good or not, I think it’s fair to say that it’s not what Liam was going for. If anything I think it’s just a dig at having used her songwriter.
For What It’s Worth doesn’t sound like Adele, to me anyway. It sounds like Rod Stewart.

I’ve got that version of Kid A as well. The special edition of Hail to the Thief is even worse.

To be fair, once you’ve tried Lisa Moorish it’s hard not to keep going back.

The Beach Boys have never connected with me, and I’ve really tried. I remember first hearing that Noel wasn’t a fan, in 2002, and feeling a huge sense of relief that someone I admired felt the same. If he did an about face on Brian Wilson I think I’d feel personally betrayed. Love and Mercy’s a good film, mind.

There were so many people on this forum saying he fucked up If I Had a Gun and The Dying Of the Light in the recorded versions. So he releases and awesome live recording of Dead in the Water and now there are some clamoring for a studio recorded version? What the actual fuck? The way the song is now captures more emotion then a studio recording ever could. Agree on the recording of DITW - doubt it could be improved upon. In the case of IIHAG and TDOTL for me, I’m not arsed about the production on either, I just don’t think they’re particularly good songs.

Really is a beauty, this. It’s kind of what Dying of the Light and If I Had a Gun were hyped as being, but for me didn’t deliver on. I’d go as far as to say that it’s Noel’s best ballad since Don’t Go Away, at least.
Very clever move including it as a bonus track. Kind of a palate cleanser after the richness of the album.

They invoke Lidl without making the ‘Lidl By Lidl’ joke. For shame.

Agree with Frank on WBTM being a grower. All the tracks have got under my skin and the album seems to get better with every listen. That’s not really been the case for me with any Oasis record, and certainly not a HFB one. Blown away by it, to be honest.
