The One Direction fans are going crazy on twitter, because allegedly Noel is one of the co-writers for a new song called "Walls" for one of those boys. There's a good chance it's Harry Styles, who a few years ago actually released a pretty good (and pretty popular) pop rock tune, Sign of the Times. It's Louis Tomlinson, they were going crazy because Louis is a big fan of Liam, not Noel, and has gone to a lot of his shows. I saw this earlier as well and thought it was weird.

They do that for every tv music special since it became doable whenever that was. They would do it for Noel also. Move along Unreal the amount of Salty and Butthurt LG haters that surfaced in the past week on this forum. Yes he did sound amazing and I'm not slating lim by any means it's just the songs shown so far sound too polished and perfect I wouldn’t say he’s a Liam hater from what I’ve seen he’s pretty unbiased. If he thinks that it’s been edited then so be, I don’t hear it personally but I’d imagine that they fix some of the distortions.

For me Halo is pure David Brent. I hate it lol I feel like invisible sun or Glimmer would have been a better fit.

I want to hate it because it feels like the intro to Gilmore Girls, but it’s been in my head all day. I much prefer the unplugged version, the album version is a bit cringe.

I would like him to be pushed a little more, and have a bit more quality control. I like the idea of Gone, but I think he could be pushed further with that, something like Baxter Dury. I'd like him to have a feature somewhere, he's working with these great producers but I feel they often try to create a sound that doesn't feel very Liam. We all know he loves the Beatles, but it'd be great to tone it down a bit so he doesn't sound like a cover band.

5/5- Cryptic Rock
Fresh off the success of a two year tour in support of his debut solo album, As You Were, Liam Gallagher is back with his follow-up Why Me? Why Not due out Friday, September 20th through Warner Bros.
Famously known as the frontman for the mega Alternative Rock band Oasis, Liam has had a lot change for him over the last decade. Sure, he launched the band Beady Eye, but he needed to do some serious soul searching plotting his next move in life as seen in the recently released new film As It Was. That all in mind, Why Me? Why Not. picks up right where 2017’s As You Were left off… but perhaps with a little more edge.
This is evident from the album’s lead single and opener “Shockwave,” which is a monster with loud guitars, pulsating drums and big choruses. A great way to start an album, Liam’s most recent single comes next in the form of “One of Us,” a seemingly obvious nod to big brother Noel Gallagher which in a melancholy way, shows Liam hoping for the feud between the two to end. Moving on, the third single, “Once,” bring you back to your youth where you thought the days would never end and that they would always be around. A touching song that anyone can relate too, it becomes clear after just these few songs that Liam has tapped into some real serious emotion and is really tugging on the heart strings.
The beauty flows on with “Now That I’ve Found You” as Liam opens up even more; singing to his daughter Molly who he hadn’t met until she was in her early twenties. A truly touching father/daughter moment, he segues right into “Halo” with a boogie woogie Rock-n-Roll vibe. A great tribute to his girlfriend Debbie, it features massive hooks, driven piano, and big drums pushing the right groove before a nice fuzzed out guitar solo.
For those curious where the title of this record originated, it came from two separate pieces of artwork drawn by John Lennon. This tidbit of information provided, the song that bares the same name is yet another piece that anyone can relate with. A song about when your told no and you think you can’t do it, but pushing forward with the word ‘Why Me? Why Not’ echoing in your head. An empowering message, beautiful strings accompany the track with motivated lyrics making this a stand out moment.
Although, pretty much all the songs are wonderful including protest cuts such as “The River” which has the most Oasis type feel as you hear Liam telling the youth to stand up and shout if you are going work things out. Arguably the most thunderous moments of the album, it is complete with fuzzy guitars, great lyrics, pounding drums, a great chorus and nice changes that will have you nodding your head until the end.
When it is all said and done after 39 plus minutes of music, Why Me? Why Not. proves to be no step back for Liam. In fact, it further pushes the boundaries of what he is capable of doing. Any Oasis and Liam Gallagher fan will love this album, it has everything you would want and expect. It is loud Rock-n-Roll and in your face, yet very subtle when it needs to be. A taste of everything you would want, it show his growth as a person, father, friend and musician. Just as good if not better than As You Were, Cryptic Rock gives Why Me? Why Not. 5 out of 5 stars.

It sounds like or reminds me of Second Bite of the Apple lol- to me anyway. Solid 7, but there’s something about Noel’s voice that grates on me a bit.

When I first listened to this yesterday I didn’t like it. I think that was down to me listening to it in a parking lot out of my phones speaker, I didn’t even get through the full song. Listening to it this morning and I’ve completely changed my mind, this is great, that choir is amazing. I like that I can actually hear the bongos as well. I do agree though that this is too short, he could have done more with it.

I actually really don’t like this. I think for me it’s like a 4.5-5/10. I feel like they could have done far better because I like what Liam’s doing with his voice, but all together it doesn’t give me anything.

Can’t wait to read another 10 pages of this thread in about 3 hours time reiterating the same arguments that come from every Noel interview. It’s almost like he knows it’s going to get people talking, weird. I did see that Dan Wooton has got involved again, posting a screenshot of what Noel said about Liam’s music, labelling it “genius”. It’s amazing how much Dan hates Liam as well.

I don't hear any autotune or pitch correction. If they did it anywhere it would have been nice in that BBC2 thing he did when he played Rocking Chair. It was pretty obvious with the Bethnal Green gig.

This is the only song either Noel or Liam has made post Oasis that has actually made me feel quite emotional.

Yeah he does, we go to the same gym. He loves squats, anything that works out his glutes really, and won't stop taking pictures of his "gains". There's a rumour floating round that he has a fitness blog.
He has said in the past that he does press ups, and that he lifted one weight in the 2000's causing the no sleeve phase.

I love Slowthai. His new album is great. Odd pairing, but he can put on a show and create an atmosphere. I think everyone should go and watch him and give it a chance.

Huh? Well done. How is that well done?
If he was the better man, he'd own up to what he did. Not apologize for it after the fact once it goes public. He brought Anais into the mess. He's not sorry lol. He's trying to save face. It's petty.
its a well done because in times gone by Liam hasn’t apologised and only made it worse, like with the One Love show. Doesn’t make it any better really, but it was the mature thing to do.

But the thing is is some of those people - not all - don’t get annoyed when Liam makes jokes about Noel. He called him a ‘little fart’ during his Glasto gig. I didn’t see anyone getting arsey then. that's cos he is a little fart i think you need to relax a little, you’ve been going on a rampage for the past 7 pages.

I'm not defending Liam, like I said, it was an idiotic thing to do. But, people like to draw a conclusion as if they know what he meant when no one knows where he was going with it. I'm glad he's apologised, hopefully he learns to keep his fucking gob shit from now on (he won't). I feel like Anais knows Liam better than we do, and if she thought enough to send the message to Noel then that would probably be the best indication of intent. well not necessarily. I really don’t get along with my aunts family and if they sent a message to me I would 100% show it to my mum regardless of what was in it. If you don’t speak to someone and get a message out of the blue, I don’t think you’ll just keep it to yourself. I get your point though!

How did Liam and Debbie explain the whole "throat grabbing" incident ? Did they play it off and say it was joke or something? they both said that they made it seem like more than what it was. Debbie sent something to another tabloid/paper and Liam talked about it in the Sunday Times interview. He basically said they had an argument, and it was blown out of proportion, and Liam apologised to Debbie and her whole family as well as his family. But his sons both said fake news when the question came up.

This will all play in quite nicely to Liam’s “worrying aggression”. Dan Wootton will surely be playing this up and finding any more evidence of Liam being aggressive. Especially since Noel put in a little hint that Liam has a history of being intimidating towards women.
