Why is anyone of the impression that liam is trying to attract new fans and are equating his current needs to people who make music for pop culture in America? His focus is trying to attract the 10 million people who bought morning glory to his music. He’s unashamedly retro and it works. Any “new” fan he attracts are gonna buy right into the whole package. And his video schtick is walking moodily. He’s not Kendrick. He’s not a social commentator. Never will be. It’s a mistake to think that Liam isn’t trying to attract new fans and that he’s only a nostalgia act. Thats exactly what he’s trying to do and he seems to be doing it very successfully. You only need to look at the crowds he’s pulling at most festivals to see that the majority are under 25s screaming back to him the lyrics to WOG. A better video would serve him better. He’s certainly not a social commentator and a Kendrick or Childish style video doesn’t gel. Escapist said it best in the post directly above.

I think some people are reading way too much into this. it's just a promo video, there are worse things out there for sure. and there are protests all over the world for many different things, hardly a cultural appropiation imo No one said it was cultural appropriation.

So my initial thoughts are:
There a lot of political appropriation which makes me uncomfortable He looks good and then very pretty framed well at the end Thx song sounds great
Plus I’m so fracking excited how they did the countdown
I literally screamed at my partner to shut up as it counted down

This is a very lennonesque tune which I even going back to BOADC and Im Outta Time would wince at, and don't get me started on BE, but this gave me goosebumps. I have no idea why either. Maybe it's just because Liam sounds really good on it. Shockwave to me is Oasis/Liam by numbers--totally generic, but also quite an earworm. This one sounds special to me and I can't understand it. The answer is probably melody and lyrics, but I'm just so pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of the first time i heard Stop Crying Your Heart Out. I also can’t exactly pinpoint why this 1:27 clip of the song has impacted me so much. It’s truely blown my mind I can’t wait to hear the whole thing It sounds like the biz...a classic..all the elements are there in the unpolished little bits we’ve heard til now - the heart the emotion the authenticity the melody the meaning and the musicianship even in spite of the clean the pool (pewel) lyric - it’s touched me and I think that’s why we get comments like “could be the best” etc - I doubt that’s over reach - I think it’s raw reaction and expectation from fans

There are loads of vids on yt about aya experiences that are quite informative. I had DMT from a bucket bong (classy) so don’t go to the expense of buying a vape. But hey if you can make it yourself - more power to you. Please report back! How was it for you? Bucket bong doesn't actually seem like a bad idea. But I'd probably prefer to own a vape at some point anyway so I think it'd be worth it in the end. I don't smoke weed that often but when I do I wouldn't mind owning a vape since I could do it inside and it'd be more efficient compared to joints. And yeah, I might post something when I do it. I have previous experience with other hallucinogens (LSD, Psilocybin, 2C-B and ketamine mainly) but I'm sure both DMT and Ayahuasca will be on a whole new level so I'm definitely intrigued. It was the most incredible and truly horrifying and scary 15 minutes of my life....intensely visual - I had the whole worm hole transported to another dimension/realm/reality and aliens experience...then BAM...back to reality with no after effects...I’d do it again

try smoking DMT - I think that’s safer than brewing your own ayahuasca and it is short acting but intense - if you haven’t already that is... That's on my bucket list too and I can probably try it later this year if I wanted to. But the reason I'm leaning towards Aya is that it's a longer lasting experience which means I have more time to process everything. Ofc the longer duration can also be a negative thing if things really go south but I'd definitely try to be prepared for the experience. I'm not too worried about brewing it myself. A friend of mine gave me his recipe which took him several tries to perfect and as I read it I realised it's not exactly rocket science. I know MAOIs can interract with a lot of foods so I'd probably drop things like meat and caffeine before drinking the brew for safety. I want to try DMT as well but I have a couple of problems: 1) I don't have a vape which means I have to buy one first (Vapor Genie maybe), and 2) extracting my own DMT from the plant or buying from a dealer? I know how to extract pure DMT crystals from the plant material myself (the ingredients are legal too) but this time the process is slightly more complicated compared to Aya which is dead simple. However, it's not something I couldn't do as long as i follow the instructions. I could also buy it from a dealer but DMT price is probably >£100 per gram while extracting it myself would be at least 4 times cheaper. I think if I'm in UK I'd just buy it from someone because it's easier but in Finland the price of DMT is so high that I'm definitely better off making it myself. I think a friend of mine paid 200€ for a gram and that was in a shit freebase form. For that price I could probably extract 6-10g myself which is ridiculous! There are loads of vids on yt about aya experiences that are quite informative. I had DMT from a bucket bong (classy) so don’t go to the expense of buying a vape. But hey if you can make it yourself - more power to you. Please report back!

I'm seriously considering trying Ayahuasca in the next few months. I know exactly how to make it and it looks like I can legally buy the ingredients too. The only thing that worries me is how intense the experience can be. It's not like acid or even mushrooms, it's totally different experience and it's usually done with shamans who have decades of experience with the brew. But I think I'd be ready to do it even by myself because when I tripped on mushrooms last time (which are chemically related to ayahuasca/dmt) I kinda wanted to be alone during the most intense part because it felt so personal and having another person in the same room felt distracting. But also the difference between mushrooms and ayahuasca is that mushrooms are mainly introspective and connected to the earth while people on ayahuasca have reported to have felt connection to other dimensions and even our past lives which I find intriguing. One thing is sure; I want to try it at least once in my life. And I feel like the sooner I do it the more beneficial it will be for my life. It won't be a recreational experience, far from it, but it's something I'm motivated to do. I have this weird curiosity towards these things (life, consciousness, the universe, spirituality, etc.) and my intuition kinda tells me this is the right path to follow even though it also sounds a bit scary. Looking back to my life I'm not surprised at all I ended up getting into psychedelics, I totally saw it coming. try smoking DMT - I think that’s safer than brewing your own ayahuasca and it is short acting but intense - if you haven’t already that is...

Not like I’m being a stalker but I noticed Molly changed her name on her IG account to mollymoorishgallagher - that’s a nice reflection on their relationship

The Smiths Radiohead The Cure
Marissa: I also love Fleetwood Mac and Paramore (saw them at Luna Park in Sydney - amazing)
I hated Oasis back in the day and it was only after a wonderful NGHFB gig 3 years ago that I revisited Oasis and connected with the music etc and here we are

I’m incredibly happy with that set list - mixing it up - hes giving us legacy and some surprises
Some great new songs that will improve over time
Re the voice - isnt it usual to play a short run of warm up gigs where he’s working out the bugs and getting his confidence up?
I’m betting he’s going to slay his Glastonbury set
I think he’s had some good coaching based on how he’s framing his vowels so I don’t buy an argument that he’s lazy or reckless with his voice or he’s tired - ill perhaps but there’s time to heal

Liam and Noel aren’t tethered to Oasis. Oasis is influential. I’d argue that Noel isn’t relevant, or is marginally relevant, to contemporary music or culture; but being listed at Number 4 on Glastonbury’s setlist is evidence of Liam’s cultural currency. Yes, like I said, Oasis are influential; not relevant to contemporary music. ¿Are you drunk? ¡I know I am! Thanks. I am drunk!!!!

We ARE old pal! But that’s the beautiful thing about the Gallaghers - 25 years after I / we bought Definitely Maybe they’re still current and relevant and in fact more so now than in the later era of the band! My house was almost blown up over this topic, but, Oasís aren't relevant to music. They may be influential to music, but, neither Líam or Noël are relevant to popular music or culture today; influential in the U.K., and music as a whole, but not a relevant on a world stage. Thanks.

My early rating is a 6 - I’m not loving it - that could change after further listens
I like the Dylan vibes of the verses but I’m not loving the retro feel of the chorus
If only it had more snarl - more pistols
