Oasis - Arcade Fire - Coldplay - Radiohead - The Beatles.
Cannot possibly lose any of them, or rank them.

oasis, paramore, pink floyd. probably in that order but also maybe not. if we're being real, it's currently fleetwood mac, pmore, floyd but oasis is still my favorite band of all-time even when i fall off from listening to them consistently.
the runaways really wanna be in there too but they aren't quite.

The Smiths Radiohead The Cure
Marissa: I also love Fleetwood Mac and Paramore (saw them at Luna Park in Sydney - amazing)
I hated Oasis back in the day and it was only after a wonderful NGHFB gig 3 years ago that I revisited Oasis and connected with the music etc and here we are

Oasis The Beatles Sigur Ros (despite their awful last album)
These are the bands of my life.
But I love so many others: Radiohead, Smiths, Stone Roses, Pink Floyd, etc.

The one main constant is Oasis, but after that I could list a bunch of bands that I get into for months at a time from time to time.
Only bands: The Beatles, Bush, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Counting Crows, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, Sponge, The Rolling Stones, The Stone Roses, The Who, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, etc, etc , etc.

I feel like this could change many times in a life. In middle school it was Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Oasis. If this was high school (1996-2000) it would have been Oasis, Radiohead and Pavement. In college 2000-2004 it most likely would have been Oasis, Radiohead and Coldplay. Strokes almost made it. Post college years 2004-2009 Oasis, Radiohead and Arcade Fire. Over the last decade it’s probably more fluid, Radiohead, The National and Arcade Fire (but I feel like they need time away to dream it all back up again). It’s been awhile since a new band has sprung up and completely captured my imagination like the bands from high school or college. Maybe it will never be that way. Loss of innocence and the fact I’m now much much older than emerging artists. You connect differently at that point than being the same age and experiencing the world together. I don’t know. This is just me.

Marissa: I also love Fleetwood Mac and Paramore (saw them at Luna Park in Sydney - amazing) i've seen a LOT of good shows, but honestly they put on the best live performances i've ever seen. the way this band commands and engages a crowd is particularly unmatchable and they're consistently better than their studio recordings

This is just me. I read somewhere recently (wish I could remember where) that the age most people stop listening to new music is 33. I don’t know your actual age but I know you’re a few years older than me. Based on what you share about your listening preferences, I think you’re doing pretty good. At least better than average. For me, I still enjoy experiencing new music and discovering new bands but like you, it’s harder to find something that connects how it used to. It’s also because I have much less free time than before so when I have time to enjoy a record properly, it’s an old favourite I’m usually craving rather than something new. I’m always backlogged on the “ive been meaning to listen to that album” list.

As for top 3:
Oasis, the Verve, Beatles
But I feel so terrible listing only these as I leave out incredibly influential and well loved artists like The Jam, Buzzcocks, Smiths, Ramones, Neil Young, the clash...and on and on. At least with the longer list there I feel I’m able to express myself albeit still minimally.

I feel weird listing Oasis these days. They're still my favourite band and probably will be forever but I've kinda been on a hiatus from Oasis music lately.
Last.fm says Oasis is only my 4th listened band from the past 365 days, with Spiritualized, Primal Scream and the Beatles having more plays. I'm not sure if that'd be my current top-3 though.

In no particular order: Oasis AC/DC Die Toten Hosen
There are many other bands though that I really like but these three seem outstanding to me.
