I've you listen to the podcast with the bass player from Pink Floyd he talks about how Macca did a bit of tiling at this place and Lennon also did some DIY.
So if it's good enough for The Beatles...

There was 20k plus in the queue when I joined. Serious pre-sale numbers!

I don't feel it's cheesy at all, there's a lot of joy on the cover. But as a designer I look at things like composition and I wish there could have been a better photo of that moment. Is the photo of a particular notable moment? I don't recognize it. I really like the whole cover, though. It feels like a nice change from the first two. I like the photo, the font, everything about it honestly. It was taken after his gig at Reading festival. The people in the photo are fans from after the gig who waited around to see him.

Very reminisant of the DYAKWIM single cover agreed. For me, the mood and composition of the shots couldn't be more different but yeah, both black & white and in a crowd. Yeah it's only shades for me, rather than a full recreation of the original.

Really like the artwork, it really captures the joy and excitement the fans experienced in meeting him.
Also shades of D'you Know What I Mean, particularly as it's B&W.

Great to get a remastered version of this classic.
Far to many vinyl choices for a collector like me though! Overwhelmed with the different variants.

Congrats Jim and others that filled some gaps in your vinyl collections. I was after a Time Flies boxset but didn't get one. Took a punt on SOTSOG and DBTT, hoping they are original presses, at £25 each thought it was worth the gamble. Postman has delivered me two OP so chuffed that I took the punt

My beautiful wife walked down the aisle to Idlers Dream and our first song was Falling All Around You by The Coral.

Honestly I like this tune. I know it gets a lot of criticism though. Don't think I've seen that video before I was right down the front for this gig, blew my mind when they played Across The Universe Same, was epic when LG sung that out the blue right in front of me. A lovely moment.

Interesting topic, Liam Vs Noel not had this one before.
Can't wait to see some original and thought provoking analysis by the forum members.

I wonder if it'll be Noel's 12th number one album. Pretty amazing when you think about it. If Oasis' number 2 singles had been number 1, they would have had 14 number 1 singles instead of 8. If my Auntie had bollocks she would be my Uncle.

At the start of the gig the intro video was taken from the rehearsals right? The Gallagher brothers compare the size of their bellys

Some of those tracks will have appeared on SOTSOG. The album was recorded in 1999, and Noel has stated previously I think that he wrote 'most' of it around the same time as Be Here Now. Gas Panic! and a couple of other tracks were probably new but I think much was written in 96/97, maybe even earlier. Of course, a lot of the tracks from 97 will have been binned, put out as B-sides or been on later albums. That's wrong. It had been documented many many times in interviews and books (by himself) that Noel had ran out of songs by the time the BHN tour had finished. He even spoke about this in a interview recently, saying he basically had the first three albums up his sleeve before they got signed (which is of course wrong as well, but you could trace songs and bits that had originally been written as early as 1992 up until BHN, after that point it stopped until Lock All The Doors). So he basically started from scratch in 1998, having abandoned cocaine as well. I think among the first songs he wrote, during the world cup 1998, was Gas Panic. There's a passage in Paolo Hewitt's book "Forever The People" describing this and if course the unreleased demotape from 1998 that was sold two years ago, including the unreleased "For One So Young." This isn't accurate. There was still songs floating around in this period that where unreleased but perhaps NG wasn't happy with the quality of the songs hence why he would say he had run out. Also Noel went through some personal changes in his lifestyle which may have led him to wanting to start fresh and write new stuff or perhaps he was finding it difficult to connect to his previous songs.

I think it will happen in the future, it's all gotta be released at one point.
The scrapped best of focused on the post 2000 era. Would have been great to give this (almost) decade of Oasis some attention.

Bought Maine Road on vinyl. Both nights. Artwork is not the best to be honest. But they may be upgrades to what we have, will have to compare I've been considering buying these, but I hear the artwork is pixelated in places. What's the sound quality like?

Dink is in relation to 4 independent record stores who have joined together to being out special editions. In this instance it comes with a bonus 7" and white coloured vinyl. Limited to 1000 I think.
This is on top of the coloured (lime I think?) vinyl that other Indies are selling.
It does seem that every act sells multiple versions of the same records now.
