Funny to see Noel's fans bringing back the past. Its the only thing left to them because right now Liam sold MUCH more than Noel.Just accept and move on!! The only thing left to the fans of a middle aged songwriter who just scored his 10th consecutive number 1 studio album out of 10 and a top 40 single in 2017, yes His 3rd number 1. Thanks.

Beady eye was a mistake. Liam solo carreer so far it has had it's trouble, but has been a steady ride. Noel's solo carreer has been great, but with the sudden rise of his brother and his attitude toward fans he's starting to lose momentum, and that's natural you can't always be on top of the world, it has been almost unnatural how Noel has had 10 #1 albums with Oasis and HFB. Noel will be fine. WBTM will have a long tail once people get used to the sound he was going for. Even Pet Sounds was initially unappreciated by people who expected classic Beach Boys and didn't know what to make of it. I'm just enjoying Liam coming out flying and outselling him, given how much Noel made fun of Beady Eye. You just mentioned Pet Sounds and Who Built The Moon in one sentence? Wow.

I bought Noel's record on vinyl, CD and the 12" single. I don't feel any hate. Love+Peace. Ringo. Who said I’m referencing you? The ego on you! Mine is bigger than Liam's! And I just want to say that Liam's album is better than Noel's and people seem to agree. And I'd like to thank my mum. Thanks for your attention.

I was hoping now that both have number 1 albums people could be happy and stop comparing them. Nope. The hate runs deep. Do records sales equal if something is good or bad? Those aren’t exclusive to one another. People were jumping for joy it seemed that Holy Mountain bombed. That ended up being premature. Sometimes it’s the long game too people. He sold 122,530 copies in the UK in the first week. In 2011. What did Liam’s band do in 2011? You mean the band with the strange name?

“It’s not about record sales........it’s about being real.” How "real" is Noel these days?

Thanks. But I think Noel first solo sold 2.5 million albums world wide. 800,000 plus in the uk. So Noel won the battle He sold 122,530 copies in the UK in the first week. In 2011.

Nope, it's neither on a concert nor on a commercial track for free. It's just that the one who wrote the song doesn't have a veto right. What sort of fees are you looking at, say for a 10k arena? Is it next to nothing or a decent amount? The PRS for music gets 3% of the bookers gross receipts (Tariff LP) and distributes the profits to its members minus some handling charges. It's impossible for me to say how much Noel gets in the end, but it should be a decent amount if Liam keeps on playing some tunes he wrote on each cocnert. www.prsformusic.com/licences/live-performances/concert-venues

Stupid question anyway. The questioner clearly has zero knowledge of the music biz / copyright law. Whether Oasis once performed a song Liam wants to do now or not doesn't matter anyway. Can you explain it cause I’ve been confused ever since this came up 😂 What matters is: who wrote the song? At least in Europe, "someone" (the promoter) has to submit a list with the songs played to the copyright collection society and has to pay a fee for them. Noel can't deny anyone to play the songs he wrote (in case they were published) but he'll get some money, depending on the size of the venue etc. It's hard to identify the one who bears the costs because of the contracts between Liam's camp and the promoter, but in the end, Noel definitely gets money each time Liam sings one of his songs, whether Liam himself signs anything or not.

Are you insinuating that the royalties don't get paid or just that Liam doesn't do the signing? Stupid question anyway. The questioner clearly has zero knowledge of the music biz / copyright law. Whether Oasis once performed a song Liam wants to do now or not doesn't matter anyway.

The Chem Bros and The Prodigy supported Oasis in Knebworth in 1996, so Noel on a Big Beat tune in 1997 is not suprising at all. Unlike that french cosmic pop thing xD

Cosmic pop ? He'd say: "Watch MTV and wait for that". That's not cosmic pop.

I like the direction in general and I appreciate that he wanted to do something different but the new album itself is simply dull.

Noel has lost his mojo. Most of the songs of the album are simply boring. The ones released before this Friday are among the best as mediocre as they are. At least they were interesting. The rest of the songs are just forgettable. It's clearly possible to recognise that Noel didn't have any songs and tried to write the album in the studio, therefore we have no proper B-Sides (an instrumental and a live bonus track), two instrumental fillers and many many listen-and-forget songs. The bird with the scissor is just a marketing stunt and the french text is the cringiest and worst lyric a Gallagher ever had on a record. I was really looking forward to this as I enjoyed many BE/NGHFB remixes and I'm not even a "pure rock n roller" (I love Chem Bros, Death in Vegas, Justice,...) but this album is just weak. Liam has clearly won this "battle" although he took the safe route and released a straight forward 1996 rock album. I would have loved to publish a different impression but it's ssimply not possible.

The problem is that both albums had artist online store exclusive editions (box set for Liam and picture discs for Noel). In times of music streaming, a CD is merely an archive item for me., but I'd like to have a vinyl on release day for the first full listening.

So I ordered the deluxe edition months ago, have tickets to see him next summer and here I am on album launch day with......no fucking album! Same for me... So stupid that someone who's forked out over a hundred quid on the album and tickets is now off to find some crappy leak download in the dark corners of the web. No need for that, he's giving away the whole album for free on Youtube... www.youtube.com/user/NoelGallagherVEVO/videosThe whole handling is a massive kick in the arse for the fans still buying physical copies.

My AYW box shipped days before release and arrived on time.
Did you order the limited vinyls? I just wonder whether there were delays in production and that's why my order still isn't shipped.
