Watching this by bits, and its great
Never knew Mike Rowe was 1. English (always though he was american) 2. Noel's music director. 3. nervous about playing as a session musician at the start since he always seemed pretty amazing to me 4. Cant read music (musicians who cant read music are the best arent they?)

I always assumed he was American too even after learning in 2000, 2008 and 2011 he wasn’t. He will always be American to me. Maybe from Wisconsin or Michigan.

To play by sight is hard but the little squiggles aren’t really as complicated as is made out. You could learn to read in a few days.

To be honest I've never really thought about where Mike is from and the same goes for all Gallagher key board players past and present.

He seems like a great bloke. I don’t love all of the choices he’s made with HFB live, but that was a really interesting interview.

Ive never learnt how to read music, and i play guitar, drums, piano, bass... whatever. Most people who see me play dont understand how i do it, but its very simple. I never looked back and never regretted not learning how to read music. Its a different mindset. Every note is a discovery, a miracle. And not just a roadbook. The greatest music innovators in rock n roll cant read a note. Because its make you go beyond the piece of paper. Mike Rowe probably has his own style also because of that. I felt from my little experience that musicians who can read music where much more anxious about going somewhere else. Maybe more technical, but less adventurous.

By playing by sight I mean seeing music written down and just playing it while reading it. Knowing what the symbols mean is easy. To sit down and just play along with the notes while reading them is difficult.

He's been great for Noel and he was great for Oasis in the 90s too. Some jazzy stuff going on with that MTV Unplugged gig.

Mike Rowe is a Boston Red Sox fan and never misses a game at Fenway.
