It’s always been my favorite Oasis tune and I’d personally put it in the top 10 songs of all time.

Got hit with a copyright strike. It’s a Rick Beato video where he played bits of Wonderwall, DLBIA, Slide Away, DYKWIM, and The Masterplan. He explained how great each of the songs were, then played a bit of Champagne Supernova and said why he thinks it’s their best.

Fucking hell I was looking at the time where Rick was playing a bit of Champagne supernova and couldn't look more than a couple minutes. It's gone.
Actually I can still see the stream, want me to record and share this with you guys?
Edit misclicked and now I can't get back into Rick's analysis 😔

Live Forever is the encapsulation of Oasis - poignant without sentimentality, a 'you and I' that could mean band and fan, lovers, family or friends, a soaring melody, in the right key for the masses to sing along, a 'ballad' that isn't a 'slow song cliche' and a guitar solo that is part of the song itself - it can't be played as a full band without it pretty much note for note or it wouldn't be LF.
There's plenty of great Oasis songs, but this is the greatest.

You do wonder why they strike videos like this. I don't get the impression that the majority of RBs usual audience are that big on Oasis so it's a good bit of pr from a decent platform.
Having said that, ' I like Noels voice but Liams voice IS the sound of Oasis' lol. Was probably Noel that blocked it. 🚫

I think Oasis peaked with Champagne Supernova. Couldn't get better and bigger than that.

Here is his reaction to when he first got a copyright strike for a similar video

It's all subjective. Greatest song in what way? Technically? Lyrically? Greatest rock song? Or ballad?
I think because Champagne Supernova is well-known and universally appealing it gets the title of most famous Oasis song.
For me, the greatest Oasis song is Acquiesce.

Champagne Supernova is a brilliant song and certainly one of Oasis's best ever. But Columbia will always be my favourite Oasis song. Champagne Supernova is definitely in my top 5 favourite Oasis songs though.

Anyone else notice the bit at the beginning where he is discussing seeing Oasis for the first time? He mentions going to see them with his friend, "Tim Smith". Seeing as that gig was in Atlanta and Tim Smith, who played with NGHFB, is from Atlanta, I would assume that is the same Tim Smith. It's obviously a common name, so it could not be, but that would be a fun connection if it is the same person.

Their greatest song? I'd probably go with Slide Away, but Live Forever and Champagne Supernova have to be in the convo.
Their most Oasis song will always be Rock 'n' Roll Star for me. I was listening to day 2 at Wembley '00 again recently and there's that great interchange when they introduce the final song.
Liam: "Rock 'n' Roll Star" Noel: "I just said that" Liam: "Yeah, but I fuckin' meant it"
Peak Oasis

It is, Tim has been on Beato's show, covering XTC, Hopefully we get this video back online, he's always been kind praising Oasis, Radiohead, and his appreciation of Coldplay's Amsterdam reminded me how great they once were too.
