Just wondering as I'm a bit clueless about this stuff - how do people manage to record the soundboard audio at a gig or get the audio from an IEM? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm genuinely curious

Long story short
You tune a receiver in (like a radio) to the frequency the iem is using, then just record it

what freqs do they operate on, like walkies or something?
would have thought it need to be fm quality or near? digital or 'over the air' radio spectrum?
mad whoever thought of doing this in the first place!
For soundboards, I thought it was case of bribing the front of house mix engineer
