Somebody should ask Liam on X if he's going to continue doing his solo albums with his army of song writers as well as working with Squire. Didn't he sign like a five album deal or something like that with the record company? If I remember correctly.

I'm not sure but don't forget he's also released three live albums with Warner as well so I guess that makes it more than five albums he's already released with them.

I hope he carries on with the solo stuff, but his success has been amazing and I think now he’s done knebworth, a bit like oasis, where do you go from there. So wouldn’t surprise me if he carries on with the squire route for more albums. Not sure what’s best but can’t fault him either way. I personally would rather more solo but who knows.

Squire is perfect given, as you say, he peaked for the second time at the exact same place, Knebworth.

Live albums don’t count for record deals, label people are not idiots because in this case any musician could easily and quickly get out of their contracts But anyway there wasn’t any official information about Liam’s contract and what he owns to Warner. It’s all just rumors and guesses And btw his band/collaboration with JS is also signed to Warner

It depends on the deal signed. Anything is possible. A lot of artists actually got out of deal by releasing live album or compilations.

Do you remember which artists?… I’m interested

Live album just doesn’t sell as much as LPs. I heard about many cases when artists couldn’t have gotten out of their contract for years. Maybe I just don’t know about technicalities or whatever.

I want some crazy super group. Add Ashcroft, Mani, Bonehead and Alan White to LG/JS. Let Ashcroft and Squire write five songs each, with Liam adding one. The result should be an unfocused but spectacular album. The only song shorter than 5 min will be Liam's, which will turn out to be the best one.

No just no especially as Ashcroft can't write a decent song these days.

I think The Verve – Forth was great, as well as his own 2016 album (which I think is called These People).

His solo stuff has mostly been self indulgent shite imo. Save for some of the early stuff and You Don’t Own Me which is ace.

Ah please no Ashcroft the guy is really bad, he wrote one good song and got sued and never wrote a decent song again
Most overrated guy from the britpop era.
It’s fine as it is plus they’re hired excellent musicians
