Im gonna say 9. The Once-esque ballad part at the start and end is pretty great, couldve been its own song. And while the middle part and breakdown do sound a bit like A Day In The Life/Band On The Run, I’ll also give the song credit for making the “middle with different vibe/tempo” idea work. Many songs randomly change tempo before switching back and it just sounds out of place. Here it sounds cool.
My only real complaint is that it ends a tad too abruptly. It gets to where the middle kicked in the first time round, then just stops. But that may not be the full album version, so it may be irrelevant.

10. I loved Once more than anything from the first listen. The same thing happened with this song. In a few months, when we have listened to the album we will know better. Already I see a good battle between this unreleased and Once. I hear Once starting to feel "scared" and I never would have thought it ... The hype for the album has significantly increased! I love this song and I already know it will never tire me.

Any chance Liam wrote this amazing sing? If so I'd consider it his Masterpiece. He probably didn't but I would think he would more likely feel comfortable previewing his own song than one someone else wrote.

Any chance Liam wrote this amazing sing? If so I'd consider it his Masterpiece. He probably didn't but I would think he would more likely feel comfortable previewing his own song than one someone else wrote. It would be a very unusual and very marked departure from his typical use of language and themes, lyrically speaking. (But then I was always amused by that satire of Liam in which he secretly sits around reading Kierkegaard, so who knows for sure!).
It is however very much within the themes that Simon Aldred often touches on—faith and its loss, damage and loneliness.
"Said your prayers and played it by the book, cried up to the heavens show me love ..."
"Darling it's a minor miracle how you catch your faith at every obstacle ..."
For me, though, doesn’t really matter. The poetic beauty of the song becomes that much more wrenchingly beautiful through the no-holds-barred expressiveness of the singer.

It's a really lovely tune, I'm a big fan of this. Love Everything's Electric..... not keen on the other two, but this is right back up there with Everything's Electric. Something a bit more complex but doesn't feel forced. I like this sorrowful tone from Liam, similar in vibe to All You're Dreaming Of.
Only criticism is that it ends a bit abruptly, because I'm eager for it to go on. Maybe an extended fade out should have been the way (nobody does those these days though).

I gave it 9 as we haven't really heard a good quality version of it yet. But I love what I've heard so far.
