After quite a few listens - the first verse sounds great, great instrumental too. The second verse could do with better flowing lyrics in my opinion. The chorus too. Too wordy? On paper the lyrics look great, even if they don't mean a great deal. But yeah its a flawed, yet good song.
I certainly don't think it'll be the best thing we hear from the album. Despite what others have said it doesn't particularly strike me as an obvious single. But that donesn't worry me that there's a lack of single worthy songs either, because i think they simply like to go with something upbeat as the comeback.

I like it would give it a solid 7.
Prefer it to shockwave but not quite as good as wall of glass.
Would have loved a nice guitar solo and the chorus being a bit better but it’s a good first single.

What is the scale we are using?
I mean if something like A Day In The Life is a 9 or 10, then this is a 3, being realistic
If it’s a 1 to 10 in terms of what we kind of expect from Liam, then I’ll give it a 6 or 7. Nice little tune, some nice melodies.
My issue with these kind of songs is that although we know he has songwriters writing with/for him, Songs like this sound a little bit like they could’ve been given to anybody else too. It’s got a kind of vibe to it that seems a bit disconnected from what we know as Liam Gallagher. Maybe that’s a good thing because it stops songs being a generic Liam tune that people would expect, So it’s not really a complaint as such. I just always feels like there’s a bit of authenticity missing from certain songs, like this one.
With all that said, it’s an enjoyable tune. I think we all know that Liam is never going to have his name on anything groundbreaking at this point , so best we can hope for is some decent tunes and it is.

I'll have to listen a couple more times to be able to rate it, but I like it! Really like the groove, which isn't much like anything else he's done, I don't think?

Maybe that’s a good thing because it stops songs being a generic Liam tune that people would expect, So it’s not really a complaint as such. I just always feels like there’s a bit of authenticity missing from certain songs, like this one. That’s exactly the reason why I like As You Were much more than WMWN. Even though WMWN is a good album, it doesn’t feel as much like Liam as the first does, where he wrote half the songs himself and had co-writers for the others. This isn’t an argument against co-writers - the songs just have to feel genuine or authentic for Liam’s rather than a generic pop hit that could have been tossed to anyone. Anyways, this song: I really like it! It’s miles better than Shockwave, feels fresh and vibrant, well produced. It’s a good mix of heat churning guitars and modern pop elements. I like the “I don’t hate you but I despite that feeling” bit the most. It really makes use of Liam’s voice. Listened to it three times but I’m going to keep going a couple more times. Lots to like on this one so far.

Well, I listened to it a bunch more times! Damn, that's catchy. I'm giving it a solid 8-to-9.5 rating. What a strong start for the album. I hope there are more songs on it that sound like this one.

Pretty average song. As someone else said, it sounds like this song could have been given to any number of artists who use that same set of hired-gun/ringer songwriting teams.
Having said that, credit where its due, Liam's vocal in the chorus is pretty far out and he does sound very good.

It's hilarious to me that the two main critiques are a) it's generic/safe Liam and b) it doesn't sound anything like Liam. Just goes to show how very conflicted the expectations of him are ...
Will be fun in a few hours to see how he talks about the song (and Grohl's involvement.)

It's dull as fuck. I highly doubt anyone of us would give it a second listen if it wasn't Liam. Production also sounds weak. Hopefully, I like the album as a whole more.

It's a 6 from me right now, up from a 5 yesterday. Nowhere near as good as Wall of Glass.
That "superficial feeling" line sounds VERY un-Liam. Sorta seems like this was rushed in the studio.

It is now on Radio X, they played Songbird like 20 minutes ago. I can't explain how much is Songbird better and how many things are wrong are with Everything's Electric. And Songbird is from worst Oasis period. I guess that many people were not very happy with Songbird after 90s singles.
It is not anywhere near to call it good music.
It is far from calling it good rock songs.
It is far from great songwriting.
It is good song for Radio X and it is good for 2022 standards if you are comparing it with other new artists.
5/10 song. 7/10 LG's song.

Decent enough, first listen didn't like the vocal, now after a few its fine. The groove underneath makes it - and sounds a bit like Radiohead's Optimistic to me (which is a great tune)
