Well, you knew it was coming ... the semi-annual Jonathan Ross Oasis hype ... Preview in the NME: www.nme.com/news/music/noel-gallagher-says-hell-reform-oasis-for-100-million-2945614Noel Gallagher says he’ll reform Oasis for £100 millionBut he isn't holding out hope...By Nick Reilly 21st May 2021
Noel Gallagher has named his price to reform Oasis, and it’s nothing short of a cool £100 million. However, he isn’t holding out hope and claims that the music industry couldn’t afford to fork out the hefty sum. He made the comments after estranged brother Liam claimed last year that Oasis had been offered the huge sum to get back together, but said it was still not enough for Noel. “There isn’t £100million in the music business between all of us… if anybody wants to offer me £100million now, I’ll say it now, I’ll do it. I’ll do it for £100million. Ludicrous. What is funny though is that I think Liam actually believes it,” he told The Jonathan Ross Show. Discussing his relationship with Liam, he said he doesn’t “particularly” miss his brother, with the pair not speaking since Oasis’ split in 2009. “It was all wrapped up in youth and camaraderie. Once that has gone you cannot put that genie back in the bottle. It would just be for showbiz and for a mere paltry £100million,” he said. “Everybody’s moved on. “I talk to my mum every other day and she’s never mentioned it to me once.”

Certainly not impossible. It would only take 100 million people to donate £1.

I don't want the reunion with someone who today believes that Holy Mountain is a masterpiece. It's embarrassing to mix Oasis with the current Noel

Certainly not impossible. It would only take 100 million people to donate £1. Or... We just need to discover that Jeff Bezos, Vitalik Buterin or some other insanely rich person is a big Oasis fan and jobs' a good 'un! Mind he only wanted £8M a few years ago

Nope. Don't want it. If it means less solo material from either I'm not interested.

Nope. Don't want it. If it means less solo material from either I'm not interested. If they reformed I’d be the first in line for tickets… But I hope they don’t. I’m enjoying Noel’s solo stuff too much and there’s a legacy growing about the band that I think a reunion would shatter. I watched Made of Stone recently. I saw them when they reformed and I really enjoyed it but looking at that film after the fact in the cold light of day and I think Johnny Marr and Paul Weller have the right attitude towards reforming bands.

He’s put that out there as a marker ! It’s extremely possible some tour company or label would pay it , there world tour would generate double and the music industry is in poor state at the minute , there every possibility and all these that saying they wouldn’t go is aload of rammel .. they both generate great music and different music but to see Noel playing that cigs an alcohol riff would be great .. can he ever see himself never playing them songs again?? I’m not so sure he can

It won't happen and I don't want it to either as both Noel and Liam are better off apart anyway.

Why do you brits always spoil interviews? Sells soap! It's not just the Brits of course, but in the gears of the giant PR machine, many people benefit from it, including Noel (and in this case even Liam a bit.) The newspapers get clicks, Jonathan Ross gets more viewers, Noel gets to tell more people about his new album, and casual Oasis fans are triggered to stream Champagne Supernova that many more times ...

Yeah I get that, but you can basically read the whole thing online already Seems a bit pointless to me

One thing to notice is if he carries on losing any more weight and looking older by the month he won’t be able to reform them! He’s following a marr and Weller diet with looks of it but looks really old recently

I would be too... I never got to see them live. Of course we all would. But I'd hate for it not to live up to expectations. And I certainly don't want it if Noel's only up there for cash, and the chemistry between him and Liam is still toxic.

It is a pity for people who didn’t get to see them but… we can’t go back in time. Oasis in 2022 would be Oasis in 2022. I think people (particularly the fans that have arrived since Supersonic) want the Knebworth era oasis but we’re obviously not getting that back and I don’t just mean in terms of the lineup. I do think it would be cool if Noel and Liam made up and were on better terms and maybe Noel joined Liam on stage for Acquiesce for a charity gig or something but not under the oasis name. That for me would be the ultimate, just to see two brothers mend their relationship but still do what’s best for themselves musically (the solo stuff).

I'd be okay with them reuniting personally and it not actually being that great. Because then there is at least a chance for them to bounce back from how bad the initial reunion tour/album would be. Because in examining the careers of other bands I like, there are always going to be ebbs and flows. Sometimes after a band sucking in their 40s and releasing mediocre albums in their 50s occasionally they start sounding better and playing better. It's impossible to predict. It's kind of like how Liam sounded better in 2017 than on the Dig Out Your Soul Tour. There is no linear relationship to it that can predict things.

I'd never want a reunion if they weren't interested in a new album. Otherwise it's just retreading old ground, which they already do in their solo acts. I do hope Noel reunites before he's 60 at least.
But I am still hoping that before they ever reunite Oasis, they do some appearances/collaborations on each others solo work (without trying to create the Oasis sound).
