I love them, though I don't like much of their new stuff. I bought Pull the Pin when it came out and saw that tour which was excellent but it wasn't until much later after it came out I bought Grafitti on the train.
Certain tracks since Pull the Pin I really like, C'est La Vie is great fun and Been Caught Cheating is absolutely incredible. Kelly's vocals on that are immense.
I last saw them at Shepherds Bush Empire in 2011 I think it was, looking at recent setlists I don't think I'd enjoy them too much as I want the deeper cuts and bsides from all the albums up until Language.Sex.Voilence.Other.
Wish I had seen them with Stuart Cable, my first gig was Earls Court in December 2003 and he had just left. I'm a huge Black Crowes fan so Steve Gorman was more than a capable replacement but I never got to see the 3 lads from the Welsh Valleys because not long after that it became all leather jackets, designer sun glasses and elvis hair cuts. Still loved them live and saw them a bunch of times but I wonder if it's how a lot of people feel about Guigs and Bonehead leaving Oasis, seismic change in the dynamic of the band.

Maybe Tomorrow has always been a favourite of mine by them. It's a good song. Yes i also do quite like it myself. Yeah, it's certainly one of their best single releases in my opinion.

It was really tragic what happened to Stuart Cable. It was just a waste of life.

Not a fan of Stereophonics myself but there's no doubt that Dakota is an incredible tune.
P.S. Shows how backward Noel was during that time that he was snide about a simple pulsating synth of that song. Laughable that he claims the rest of Oasis didn't want to do anything different!

Really annoys me when he now pins Oasis lack of trying new things on Liam. He talks about Liam rewriting history but anyone watching Noel up until 2003/4 know he was completely limited in his tastes. Was aonly around 2005 interviews i started to notice him openly talking about more diverse music and by 2020 he can't tell us enough how eclectic his tastes are.

I saw the Phonics in Morfa Stadium in 1999, what an incredible show, it was my first show alone without my parents, 16 years old and absolutely loving it. Boiling hot all day, round the corner from my house too. If you haven't seen the DVD then watch it on youtube. Immense At the 3 minute mark you can see the crowd fall over, that was my first experience of that and I **** myself This is great too I was a massive fan up until LSVO?. Then I think they went downhill (I do enjoy Keep Calm And Carry On and Graffiti On The Train) but the rest of the albums are poor (IMO of course)

I don't think they've changed that much after that. I think we just realized they were fucking boring.

I’ve heard people say that The Stereophonics were underrated and I’ve heard people say that they were overrated. They’re neither.
They sit snugly where they’re supposed to be, which is quite rare actually. A good band, with good (not great) songs, which I’ve always felt was a pity because if Kelly Jones was a better songwriter they could’ve challenged the very best bands ever because of that incredible vocal tone he has.

Found them to be quite hit and miss.

Ye id agree that what theyre perceived to be is roughly accurate. I feel that kind of like Oasis, their best work came at the beginning (namely their first two albums), but there have been some highlights since, Dakota being one of them.
