It's a bit odd that they released this EP but haven't announced it yet. Not even on Liam's twitter. European tour starts on Sunday and since Liam having more and more young fans, digital release/streaming is aimed more on them. (I'm still one of the analogue age BTW).

What does his contract with WB look like. How many albums? This is a very quick turn around on another release. Is someone trying to satisfy a contract so thay they can be free to do something like else...O Nah the contract probably mentions three originals, id say its to boost sales a bit more and put back the name upfront on streaming services. Idk man, this is a weird release. Was WB thrown a bone on the 3 originals by getting some oasis classics released?

Yeah I understand, but I wasn't talking about a physical release, he hasn't even announced the EP is available on Spotify / itunes. Maybe they don't want to take the atention away from the Once video release today.

Sounds good glad Liam is finally singing and not shouting on acoustic songs. Way way better. Inner peace found ? This. He should be doing it for a long time already, glad he finally got round to it tbh

I really want to hear Don't Go Away done like this as well. I think it would sound excellent.

I wasn't on the forum yesterday so missed the news of a leak on this or that it was even being released until this morning. A pleasant surprise to wake up to this, that's for sure. Listening to Sad Song on my drive to work and I admit I had goosebumps and was transported back to the 90's where it felt like I was listening to pure Oasis. Cast No Shadows is great and Stand By Me is one of my favorite Oasis songs so loved it's inclusion on here. But I echo someone else's comment that I don't like how they cut it off at the end and also wish they would have added strings to it like they did on CNS and SS.
I'm actually a fan of both Alright Now and Meadow so I really like the stripped down versions here, and how it allows Liam's voice to shine even more. Honestly, I would probably listen to a triple album's worth of these type of acoustic renditions from Liam, so this is great. I do wonder if this will take the place of any sort of official release on the MTV Unplugged. That would be a shame if so, but at least we have access to it through the usual sources. Oh well, maybe we can at least get a blu-ray release or something.

Really good versions! I was surprised how strong Meadow was - the album version never did anything for me. The Once demo is a bit pointless, One Of Us would've been nice getting this treatment instead.
Sad Song vocals are fantastic. I don't think I'll find it easy to go back to the original version now. Once and Stand By Me are highlights to me as well, and Now That I've Found You is also stronger acoustic (though I prefer the Unplugged version).
And, as it was mentioned before, it's really good to hear Liam singing rather laid-back instead of shouting. He doesn't need that, especially in acoustic settings.

I do wonder if this has been done instead of the unplugged gig to avoid handing over a chunk if the proceeds to MTV? Dont know the in and outs of it but assume they must have some stake in a release since it would use their branding.

Most bands end up not releasing their episode commercially. They tend not to sell well outside like Nirvana or Clapton. A lot of artists feel like they shouldn’t have to give MTV anything.

I think MTV used to carry a lot more weight even if the artist had to give something up those gigs generated big time exposure. I'm not sure that's the case these days.

I'm not sure that's the case these days. MTV carries no weight. They don’t show music on their broadcasts anymore going on 10-12 years. At least in America. Now there is a million different ways to find and listen to music. 20 years ago you had radio, MTV/VH1 or going to gigs. That’s it. So yeah getting your video or a special into rotation on MTV was a big big deal.

According to Stopcryingyourheartout the songs (except for the "Once" demo) were recorded at RAK Studios in London.
Anyone knows when that session took place? & does Bonehead play on the Oasis songs by any chance?

If you zoom in on the album artwork it says recorded at RAK Studios. The album was partially recorded there, so maybe these were just done at the same time? Or when he mentioned on twitter heading back into the studio.
Such a great release though, perfect way to round off this album cycle and promote the upcoming live shows. Liam is the master. I was loving listening to all the CDs on the Supergrass box set which just came out, and this has totally taken my focus off it haha.

Why on earth does "Stand by me" end so abruptly?! Couldn't they leave the last bridge/chorus? I think it's an improvement.
