I'd wish everyone would admit that they secretly find all this entertaining. So many comments saying how they don't approve, 'he acts like a teenager', 'Get off social media', blah, blah , blah. We're already 26 pages into this thread, you all f*cking love the drama lol This. Don't get why so many, including mods, always want to shut down debate on here. Really strange. Again... there is a difference between having a positive debate and throwing more fuel on the fire. Many people seem to enjoy the latter...

Again... there is a difference between having a positive debate and throwing more fuel on the fire. Many people seem to enjoy the latter... I think its unrealistic to expect any other than what we got. The two brothers have broke apart so much now that there's bound to be fans who have taken more a liking to one. It's pretty rare to meet anyone who says they just enjoy both their music and dont have an opinion. I dont think anything has been debated that viciously anyway.

Do we really need any more evidence in regards to how much of a vile, manipulative person Sara is? There's not much doubt in my mind that she had her mates at the Sun write up that piece about Molly.
Or course people will just ignore that part of Liam's comment and just focus on the Damon Albarn thing to call Liam a mentally unhinged psycho.

Wouldnt suprise me in the slightest if Sara's biggest motivation for seeing Molly was that it would wind Liam up. If it was about being in a kids life to show support from the Gallagher family then making up with her Father shouldn't be an issue. If it's true that she did that at a party then she really is a piece of work.

we don't really know what prompted it. That may have been the thing that he reacted to but I doubt it was the only thing in isolation. They have been calling each other names on social media for years. I'd imagine finding out she approached Molly in a club and did that is far more likely reason to try and warn her off. I'd be well pissed off if one of my daughters was treated like that by a family member I didn't get on with, just out of spite towards me. Well... I'm sure he's known about the Sara/Molly thing for a while. Why wouldn't he have brought it up before if it wasn't that is was purely in relation to the article that said Noel and Sara had taken Molly on trips etc and funded her education, which was published last week? does it say when this thing with Molly happened then? I've haven't read anything about it except seen Liams post on IG. I assumed it was recent.

For those and certain members who always moan like "we're not allowed to debate. Mods don't allow us to debate on this forum", that's completely BS. There's a huge difference between having a positive debate and throwing more fuel on the fire. Some comments in this thread go/went too far. Those comments aren't having debate at all, but nothing more than bitching this, that, who, what. Like we posted earlier, why this thread is unlocked is, that we keep all those posts regarding on this drama's in one thread and not to spreid all those posts all over the forum. That's the only reason we keep this thread open. Both Noel and Liam should shut their mouths up regarding their family matter and should handle it in private. There's only one who gets big money from this is, that scum Sun.

But it wasn't, and at that point it was bound to be opened up into a "Liam vs Noel" debate. I think that will always happen for as long as they are still fighting. The biggest suprise to me in all of this is how Noel used the angle of the throat grabbing incident. I respected the fact he never used it before as any type of cheap shot. I assumed it was more to do with protecting the oasis "brand". When stuff like that is used it makes you realise there really is no turning back.

We know for a fact Noel did have contact with Molly before Liam did but the Scum article basically insinuated all of the things Liam has refuted. Liam's initial text to Anais was in response to Sara's comment on Insta, though, hence the screenshot.

He is also responding to the other stuff in the scum I agree. All I mean is that if the incident in the club happened recently then it could be a factor in him sending that warning via Anais. I mean yeah he referenced the IG msg but they have been slagging each other on social media, and he has said worse, for years so why get so upset over that in isolation. I'd be amazed if he wasn't raging about her trying to intimidate Molly on a night out, I would be if it was my kid. I don't know what has really happened and neither do you, it's just my opinion that it helps me make sense of what was a pretty weird incident taken in isolation. I'd say we may never know but the way they like to live their lives in public we probably will at some point.

If even the biggest Oasis fans amongst us think how poor this looks for them both, then god knows what the general public are making of it.
I know people say any publicity is good, but Liams start off to this album cycle has had very little, if any, good press so far. It kind of feels like that period where they've built him up to knock him down again.
Noel on the other hand is much less popular than at the start of the decade in terms of public persona, and his sales of albums and singles are down alot.
Feel like it could be a bit of a slide for them both from here on in.

Holy Mountain charted a little lower than The Heat of the Moment, but was actually a bigger hit in terms of longevity (stayed on the charts for 2+ months). I don't know what this based off of, other than Black Star Dancing, a single he's barely promoted. A single he didn't do any late-night talk shows with and has barely done any radio spots for. Basically something he just threw out there for touring and that's made up of his b-side cuts. So as of the moment, there's very little evidence that supports this statement.

Literally all of my friends who are oasis fans cannot stand him. I can't go anywhere on social media oasis pages without any mention of his songs or interviews being slammed. He's literally the most unpopular hes ever been. He's done himself no favours in the circles he hangs with, which have led to this dark, mean spirited man who gives off the impression we are all worse than he is because he basically has money and fame. This has fed into his political views (which he should just stay away from) and everyone just thinks he's basically an old tory vagina.

This has fed into his political views (which he should just stay away from) and everyone just thinks he's basically an old tory vagina. Oh please, High Flying Birds outsold the latter Oasis albums in the UK. It's pretty clear that HFB's album sales were a unique combo of Oasis buzz, it being Noel's first solo album, and the fact that his team put every bit of marketing dollar behind it: like getting TDOYAM on the front page of Youtube or WAL into a commercial. The HFB's album numbers weren't sustainable (much like Liam will probably also see his sales from As You Were decline), especially for an artist of Noel's age. Also, both Chasing Yesterday and Who the Built the Moon weren't remotely marketed as hard as High Flying Birds and they didn't benefit from those above factors. Lastly, you're comparing album sales at the beginning of this decade? Don't know if you've heard, but albums sales have significantly declined for every artist save for the massive pop stars. So that statement, quite literally, is taking 2+2 and saying it equals 5. Noel "might" be less popular, but his sales aren't a reflection of that. In fact, that narrative doesn't even make sense considering that Chasing Yesterday was released when Beady Eye disbanded and Noel was at the height of popularity as a persona. And even conceding that, WBTM's album sales are exactly the same as CY's. In combination with the fact that HFB's outsold some Oasis albums in the UK, it's pretty clear that HFB's was an anomaly, out of order in terms of sales with the albums prior and after, and CY and WBTM is probably Noel's actual sales floor and ceiling.

It'll depend on how many Oasis fans he has lost in the last couple of years. I'm sure a lot of us bought WBTM out of habit and loyalty but didnt actually enjoy it. Second time round I'm not so sure.
I'd say this is veering off topic but in a topic like this it's a good thing.

Jesus Christ fartpanic dcunited , it doesn't all boil down to that. spaneli has laid it out for you. Only in the world of twitter with the weird rivalry and 'one side and only one side' attitude is Noel less popular, and then yeh, some 50 year olds stuck in the 90s who couldn't get their head around hearing 10 seconds of four songs on a trailer and then Holy Mountain. Give a shit? He's sold out his biggest solo gig on this tour (Heaton Park). The crowds at his gigs (and I know, cause I've been to enough on this tour) have got younger each time over the course of the last year - I also have no doubt that goes hand-in-hand with Liam's comeback which conversely goes hand-in-hand with another generation getting into the band which all boils down to there not being a huge British band around atm. I hate going into the charts because right now they're so different to what they were, and it also depends hugely on HOW people consume music which means that it depends greatly on audience as well (i.e. is it people who prefer to buy and own a record (so one sale) rather than download/stream - and streaming obviously factors into the charts now). Holy Mountain peak charted at 31. That's NGHFB's fourth-highest single after The Death Of You And Me (15 - in 2011, which might as well be 1999 tbh given the change in how music is consumed from then until now), WAL (20) and Heat Of The Moment (26). It was in the top 100 charts for 10 weeks. To put that in perspective, Wall of Glass is Liam's highest charting single at 21, and had a top 100 run of 13 weeks. Shockwave has peaked at 22 as it stands. Other than that, Holy Mountain has charted higher than all of Liam's other singles, many of which - bar FWIW (33) - have peaked in a similar region (50-70) as Noel's singles have. You'd expect a lead single to chart at the highest off an album, that's just common sense.

So he is on the decline then I'm wrong. As I said. Fixed that for ya All you've done is come up with reasons why hes on the decline. You havent said he isnt. Mate, you could still buy tickets for any of his arena gigs on the day last time. Dont tell me that isnt a decline from the CY tour. You can deny it all you want. We all see how unpopular he is with Oasis fans now. Im NOT one of those people, and i defend him alot to other fans (who used to adore him). The tables have Definetely turned for the two brothers. All i said originally was i hope this isnt the start of a bad narrative being set for Liam, similarly i hope Noel doesnt keep doing himself anymore PR nightmares.

If you really think that Noel has only become less popular with that extremely small, selected section of the fanbase then you really must have your head in the sand. Calling a few bigger gigs after a bit of time away is hardly comparable to what Liam did for instance. Id like to see Noels figures for a gig in Finsbury Park at the end of an arena tour. Doing Manchester and Ireland after a bit of time away is very different. Like i said previously, it wasnt difficult to get tickets to his areana tour and i think as another poster said above - alot of casual fans were not only put off by the setlist being heavily HFB at those gigs but also the direction the last album took. Like he said, people bought it and didnt like it this time - will he get that same chance again? I think the reason he lept so quick to arenas was solely because he did so many Oasis songs. I think theyll have been a hell of alot of dissapointment at the last round of gigs with casual fans. I hope im wrong because i loved Heaton Park (actually preferred it to Liams Hackney gig) but he isnt doing himsslf any favours. Granted i take what you and Spanelli have said and hope he stays strong chart wise. I just dont think he will.

How were 'casual fans' put off buying tickets for a gig due to a setlist when the gigs went on tour six months prior? A big reason he went so quick to arenas in 2012 was because - like Liam this time around - it was a comeback that people wanted. He doesn't have to 'help himself' anyway. He owes nobody anything. The gigs are great, people who like his music still dig it, the band are great. His album didn't sell badly and plenty of people liked it as much as people didn't like it.

So making music you want with no outside pressure is declining. Alright...
I see it as a complete artistic freedom, but each to their own.

He wasn´t in a complete artistic freedom when he wrote Live Forever or Don´t Look back in Anger?? I think Noel has always been in an artistic freedom position all his career. But now, this freedom, 100% respectable, has brought a totally forgettable music period. Each on their own...

He was not in artistic freedom from 2002 to 2009, because SOTSOG kinda failed, because it was a bit different. He said so himself, Oasis was stuck in a formula because people only wanted stadium rock, just like people only want stadium rock from Liam today. Dont make me say what i did not say. Dont compare what cant be compared. It's forgettable music... FOR YOU. I enjoy it, it's not what i enjoy the most, but i respect the fact that he tries something else.

If Oasis was stuck in some kind of stadium rock formula it was because Noel was stuck. He was the boss(when it suited him). Blaming what people wanted or expected is a bullshit cop out.

I always write my opinion, not someone else. Obviously all you write here is YOUR OPINION too, not a FACT. And my opinion on this is that, quite the opposite you think, Noel has always done whatever he has ever wanted. And if you think that write retro dance music with poor songs is a step forward,ok, fine for you, but for me is a misstep. And i really miss the times when he wrote GREAT songs and he was not trying to be something he´s not and he´s not good at...
