Someone posted the lyrics and Liam is credited as the only writer for this track. I haven’t heard it yet so I’m curious

Nobody moaning on this forum has enough intel to know how involved Liam was in writing/structuring these songs we’ve heard, yet you’re prematurely bitching about how it can’t be great because they’re not his songs... Fucking hell. He gets to stamp his seal of approval on these songs and if he’s digging what he’s doing, we’re better for it. Stop all the whining about things you don’t know just for the sake of being negative. I couldn’t give a flying fuck who writes the songs but the song must be good. Otherwise I’m gonna come on here and say so. Not just to be negative. I loved AYW and Shockwave but the initial clip of The River makes me think I won’t like the rest of the song but then, I haven’t heard any more of it yet.

The clip didn't have me that excited to be honest but having heard the rest although in rough quality I think its good. Reserve final judgement for a good quality recording though.

A forum is place for people to discuss topics and give opinions. I’ve been open about my dislike for most everything Noel related since WBTM, but when people are constantly/consistently negative about things they have no clue about, it’s tiring. Like I said, we don’t have any clue of LG’s involvement in the creation of these songs. Personally, what I’ve heard so far continues to impress/excite me. If someone had told me in 2016 we’d have gotten his significantly improved vocals, AYW/that world tour, and what is a super promising start (my tastes) to WMWN, I would’ve thought they were mental.

Like it but wasn't overly sold, however just blasted it on car speakers while I was out and it has shot up in my eyes. A great tune when played loud.

Shockwave was an instant song, very catchy This is a solid song, way better than "I get by" for example, nice bassline, perfect vocals Maybe the production isn't very raw so it can flow better with the other songs on the album However this is better produced than songs like greedy soul and you better run that were very acoustic Modern pop rock production, love it We'll have the heavy version live like shockwave

Thanks to the fella who uploaded it to Clyp
Love the baseline, yeah not keen on the MP's vocal bit. But the rest is great, its a great 'album' filler type of song, not a hit single or that but a very solid album song. Looking forward to the proper full version tomorrow. Got the mp3 downloaded ready to blast out in the car in a bit.
Nice rock song like Liam said. Much prefer it than when i heard Chinatown

Weak chorus. At least Chinatown had a discernible melody. The chorus here just dies off as soon as it starts. Album filler, nothing more IMHO

If it's a good song it's a good song no matter who wrote it, if liam had written this it would be the same song, people should understand this It matters. It’s the corporate take over of the art of music that makes you think it doesn’t matter.

Does someone become coprorate as soon as they write a song for a pop star? Where is the line?

Liam is doing what he is doing because he feels he has to to survive in today’s music environment. I support him because I have since 1994 but to pretend there is no difference between a song written by a songwriter and performed by his/her own band of musicians vs some man in LA writing a song to check the popularity boxes and then be handed of to Miley, Adel, or modified to sound oasis-y and then given to Liam....Clearly there is a difference

Sooo. 1st listen. A few observations..
It's heavy. Complex/busy.I need to listen to it again and in better quality.
It's way too short.
He uses the word awakened in the wrong context. I hate that. It doesn't sound right just like "the morning son has rose" ruins it a bit.
There is no way Liam is doing that live!

It's the same way going to see Jurassic World is different to some local indie auteur movie. There's room for both - if they're good.

Embarrassing shit on here , people actually listening to a shit clip and making judgements and people actually commenting on one word vocal areas , quite sad really from the glory days , it’s a good stomping track play them loud and clear then judge them ...I love how he sings the word and in the fourth line of the second verse minute 2.38 ...sad
