I must have missed this article… what a great write up!
I remember going straight to the "imports" section of my local music store to look for Oasis singles. (HMV for the win, baby!) By the time I learned about this thing called Amazon, I was only missing two in my collection. They were always the price of a full length album, but if I didn't listen to those CD singles constantly while growing up… those were the days.
It was probably because of those singles that I became such an Oasis fan. Each time I heard a b-side, as an American, it felt like I was a part of this cool little secret club only people like me knew about. It made me part of a community, which meant so much to a bullied kid. And the fact that they were from Manchester, where my grandmother's family are from, made it even cooler.
