Doesn’t Noel usually spin his fav tracks of the year? Both past and present? Always find that interesting despite his more obvious picks.

Hope to hear more about his recording plans for next year (and if he's done any work already). Last time he was quite frank and said Who Built the Moon? wasn't finished yet because it had taken him a long time to adjust to this new way of working, and that his record company were on his back a bit over it.
Hope he is honest and open like that again. I wanna know what's become of this "four albums' worth" or material he's got stored up.

Noel talking about random stuff and playing records is always entertaining.
He did confess he lied about why he didn't perform at the Mercury Prize awards. He had declined the offer to play live, but when he noticed he was the only nominee not performing he blamed it on his band.

Gem’s nickname came from Archie Gemmil.
Noel’s been mixing new tracks.
He’s contemplating letting the band play on the new record.
Noel has a Spotify account.

I think the band should definitely be on future recordings, ysee and charlotte are on wbtm and surley have more to offer if noel really wants to try new things and expand his sound, mike rowe will be on the next record without doubt, chris sharrock has worked with noel for a long time now and the only likley alternative is jeremy stacey again, gem wouldnt exactly be a step into the unknown but he is the perfect foil for noel, and russ has been there right from the first gig, he deserves It!

Bringing in a band might push Noel to be more assertive and make choices a lot sooner. You get that many people in the same place with freelance schedules, it’ll make you focus and bang out work. I think that would be a positive. Overall I just want solid performances regardless of who. Also this is still destined for October 2020 at best. Merry Christmas.

Yep, loved that show. They were big champions of Oasis from early on too. To call Lamacq a moron is bizarre, the guy is passionate about music.

I completely agree with GlastoEls and globe about Steve Lamacq. He and Jo Whiley have always been my favourite presentors. Loved the Evening Session they've doen with Definitely Maybe 10 Years Anniversary. Lamacq and Whiley still have passion for the music they love, unlikely Zane Lowe.

I've listened to that yesterday, always nice to listen to a happy and relaxed Noel and while that's kind of crazy, I miss our very quiet Gallaghers. At least, good news that both apparently are busy working on new music.
But what does he mean he never had a nickname? I remember brother Paul saying in his book that Noel was called Brezhnev, because, of course, of his eyebrows. And then, of course, the more flattering The Chief. Or maybe he sees that as just a says-what-it-does. Or, the best one, Noely G.

Any chance of a link? It's not available anymore on the BBC's website.
