I enjoyed it then again I don't expect him to sound like he did in the 90s. I just accept his voice for what it is. Sometimes he sounds better like at One Love and Reading and sometimes he can sound rough.

I'm watching it now. The band sounds great in my opinion. Liam sounds a little rough but I like it. It works on Some Might Say because the guitars are sounding loud & good. Liam sounded a little better at the beginning of the tour, but this is still decent.

On Rock 'n' Roll Star it was like the DOYS tour all over again. He must've taken fifty pauses for breath. Infuriating.

I thought he sounded fine. And has been mentioned, when you're at the gig vs. listening on a stream it's completely different,

And has been mentioned, when you're at the gig vs. listening on a stream it's completely different, Yeh I saw him in March and I don't think he sounded any different, although yesterday he did struggle in Bold and FWIW. That wasn't just the stream. But other than that the only annoyance was Jay's lead guitar in RNS. Completely screwed up the intro.

Yeah I thought Liam sounded great. But fuck me some of the guitar work was terrible. I’m not a musician so I have no idea who’s playing what sound but from the sounds of things it’s Jay right?
For example the opening of Rock n Roll star what the fuck is going on there.

For example the opening of Rock n Roll star what the fuck is going on there. The brighter and more "aggressive" sound is always Jay because he's using Vox AC30(?) which is a very bright amp. The Beatles actually used that one. Mike is using the same amp as Noel in 90's so his guitar sounded alright. Marshall JCM900 100w if I remember correctly. Someone please correct me but is Jay also using quite strong chorus effect? It sounds like it to me. Or is it phaser?

Jay's guitar solo on DYKWIM? reminds me of Michael Scott's saying in the office, "Sometimes I'll start a sentence, and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way." I mean it's a great solo man, play it like the record....

Shame they didn't include Liams PSA for the kids before C&A, lol. Also wish they'd have picked Greedy Soul from his solo tunes tbh (YBR does sound great though)

People. It's 2018 and he clips the words because he simply can't draw them out. We can acknowledge this fact and still love him. That’s true but this was at the lower end of 17/18 tour vocals. Guy basically needs a rest. I still really enjoyed it mind and more importantly, hopefully the crowds there did!

He sounds bit husky in his interview with Jo W beforehand.
Rest needed our kid.

He sounds bit husky in his interview with Jo W beforehand. Rest needed our kid. Well, he ain't gonna get any He's had as much 'rest' as he's gonna get this year. He's got a full summer of touring the festivals and big gigs at Finsbury etc, then he's off to Japan, Singapore and finally he's doing Europe again in November.

The way he murders the intro for Cigarettes & Alcohol is unbearable. He plays it in a way that is totally wrong, my ears bleed every time. He doesn't know he needs to move the pick up too and fucks the strumming up, as you say. Plus, that guitar sounds like a lawn mower on that song. Jesus! I've been saying this for months because he's been butchering that song for ages. Liam please listen to me lol It's a real shame 'cause the band's chemistry and accurcay improved a lot since the start of the tour. I enjoyed this gig, top marks for Liam as well. Tbh I only listen for Liam's voice... The backing band could be playing the fucking teletubbies for all I care. I play lead in an Oasis tribute, so I can't overlook this

He's always sounded a bit more ropey in gigs that are seen by a wide audience (Start of this tour excepted). Dating back to the early 2000's. It's because he has a few drinks or a sniff before the gig, he'll never admit this in a million years and will sound strange to anyone who's only been a fan since the build up to AYW but I think he does it for a confidence or energy boost.
It's noticeable to me anyway. He was much more reserved in his stage persona at One Love and Glastonbury because I think he was totally sober, he had a bit of a point to prove, but now he's comfortable again I think he's not as bothered about sounding pitch perfect and just wants to tear it up and have a good time. Which is fine, as at the gig you don't notice, people get their monies worth but it doesn't make for great bootlegs.

Why is he booked for so many shows? Is he that hard up for money? Guy deserves a break and I would think Warners is happy with the AYW sales, no point in touring behind that anymore, it has obviously peaked.

Yeah there’s definitely a big difference in his persona when he first started to tour compared to now. More confidence and not give a fuck kind of vibe now, which is expected due to the success he’s recieved. He’s personality has never changed but yeah it’s interesting what some success can do but it’s great he’ll go back to the way he was earlier when the new tour starts for album 2

Just heard that version of C&A... How the hell can you screw that opening up!?!?! It's a rest of a shame as the rest of the band is actually pretty damn good these days.
Liam sounds tired but alright. We've all heard a LOT worse, but yeah it's a step down from his late 2017 shows which were unreal. His grit in his voice actually kind of works, but lowering a few keys wouldn't hurt the world.
