Seems to me if you watch and listen to old BBC broadcasts >>> The Who, The Yardbirds, Zep, Neil Young, Peel etc. They knew how to do it in past times. Also German TV engineers seemed to get it it right. They were way ahead of the curve then. American shows always sounded shit until maybe Don Kirshner rock concert broadcasts. I get what everyone saying now though. BBC has been amazing at preserving the old stuff though. I always give them credit for that. My two pence Back then the BBC had the pick of the best technical behind the scenes talent and little competition. Nowadays they probably outsource recording and mixing live gigs to someone else or have to do it on the cheap. It does sound really unprofessional, and this isn't exclusively Noel and Liam thing but any time I watch a performance by anyone. I work in television post production and you're 100% right on. When I came up there was a strict apprenticeship protocol in place, you watched, learned and when the mixer or editor or colorist thought you were ready, only then we're you allowed to move up. Now, if someone downloads some free software, they're an expert and they'll do it cheaper than a craftsmen so they get the gig

glastonbury was good i thought I think it was good once they posted it online. I didnt like the live mix. At Glasto the mixing issues were at the source; people there in the crowd were complaining they couldn't hear, so I don't think auntie can be blamed for that one. X

A pal of mine - non-Oasis fan - has been to Glasto, like, half a dozen times or more. Loves the place. But he hates watching the TV broadcasts, says they hardly ever do the artists justice.

Liam said it himself during the gig. "Does it sound BBC, yeah?"

X Yeah, I remember those sound issues. Maybe it was just my stream. 😀

Thought Noel’s sound was just as bad on jules Holland the other night. The scissors were basically inaudible. It's an outrage.Someone's job ought to be snipped. Oh dear!
