According to this website, Liam will play a gig there next summer www.buzz.ie/music/malahide-castles-summer-concert-series-set-return-2018-huge-acts-lined-259186MUSIC EXCLUSIVE: Malahide Castle's summer concert series to return in 2018 with some HUGE acts lined up Ruairi Scott Byrne BY Ruairi Scott Byrne October 24, 2017 Share this article: After an absence of six years, live concerts returned to Malahide Castle this past June when Arcade Fire and The 1975 played sold-out shows to crowds of 20,000 revellers on the castle's historic grounds. The gigs proved hugely popular with Irish music fans, with the iconic Dublin venue proving the perfect host for the summer shows, and the Castle's concert series is set to return next June with some of the biggest acts in the world lined up to perform. Buzz.ie understands that MCD Productions have submitted planning permission to Fingal County Council to host three gigs at Malahide Castle next summer. The first of the three planned gigs would see American rock band LCD Soundsystem play the famous Dublin venue on Tuesday, June 5 2018. LCD Soundsystem will play a show at Malahide Castle next summer The influential rockers, who recently released their fourth album - 'American Dream - played Dublin's Olympia last month, where frontman James Murphy hinted that the band would return to these shores in the new year. Four days after LCD Soundsystem's show, Damon Albarn will be bringing his virtual band Gorillaz to Malahide Castle on Saturday, June 9. Earlier today, it was announced that the band would headline Open’er 2018, which takes place from July 4-8 at Gdynia in Poland, which confirms the long-standing rumour that they'll embark on a European tour next summer, with Malahide Castle pencilled in as the location of their Irish gig. The final act lined up for next summer concert series at Malahide Castle will be a popular choice for many Irish music fans with Liam Gallagher set to play the third and final gig at the Castle. Liam Gallagher Liam Gallagher will return to the Irish capital next summer for the third and final show at Malahide Castle The former Oasis frontman, who recently released his debut solo album - 'As You Were' - is due to play in Dublin later this month when he headlines the sold-out Samhain Festival on October 29 at Weston Airport, Lucan, in Dublin. Any fans who missed out on tickets will have the chance to see the cantankerous singer when he puts on what is sure to be an unmissable gig at Malahide Castle next summer.

Serious source that website? Would be really cool and I probably choose this over going to Finsbury. Fingers crossed this will be confirmed!

Nice venue for a summer gig. Unfortunately there always seemed to be a rather large scumbag element at all the outdoor Oasis Dublin gigs in the 2000's. Lansdowne Road and Marley Park being the ones that stood out to me. Can't imagine this will be all that different. The DART journey could be a bit hairy! I think I'll be out of the country for all them Malahide gigs though LCD playing too which would be awesome.

Are a few off here going then?
Looks a bit of a trek from Dublin centre. Are the DART trains painful on the way back from gigs at Malahide or do they put loads on, main land European style?

Who's going then? Heading over from the sunny North West of England for it and can't wait.
First time in Dublin. We're thinking of spending the afternoon in Malahide before the gig as there seems like quite a few boozers. Anyone recommend any?
Also, is there anything happening in Dublin city centre after the gig? After shows, good clubnights etc?
Danke

I’m wondering about stage times also, I’m leaving at 4:30 cause I’m otherwise occupied and didn’t think I’d be able to make it but finally got transport.. what time will Ashcroft be expected on stage.. also buzzing to see him, I’ve no concerns about Louis Berry, traveling from Waterford and leaving at exactly 4:30.. any help?

Stage times (from MCD) Gates - 5.00pm Louis Berry - 6.30pm Richard Ashcroft - 7.15pm Liam Gallagher - 9.00pm Looks like a pretty long set from RA if that's true. Roughly 1hr 15 mins if true.
