I'm working the Mods over time.
Production is better on When I'm In Need. But the piano part in Love Like A Bomb, doe.
Throwaway tracks about minds being blown. Get out the vote.

When Im In Need is a different level and class of a song. It has a far superior arrangement and a great chorus.

I'm in the minority here, but I prefer Love Like A Bomb. When I'm In Need is a clunker, imo. The verse is fine, I guess, but the chorus is weak, and the transition from 6/8 to 4/4 is laughably amateur. Also, the bridge doesn't add anything interesting to the song (I'm referring to the "Come behold it, Won't you show me, Gonna slow it..." part). It's just not a good song, imo.
Love Like A Bomb is not the most complex song in the world, but at least it succeeds at what it's striving for. It's a charming and lighthearted love song - no more, no less. My only criticism of it, really, is that the recording makes the song seem worse than it is. Liam's vocal and the production are both terrible, but I'd bet if he recorded it with his team present day it would be a fan favorite. Just my opinion!

I love how everyone instantly favors the new songs in these polls (coincidence?)
But yeah, in this poll I'd probably stick for WIIN, altough it's too early to decide.

You talking about the chorus or the bridge?

When I'm In Need has grown on me but I do have a bit of a soft spot for LLAB. Tough call but I think the piano wins it for me, the vocal is pretty terrible though.

I like many aspects of Love Like A Bomb. Horrendous Liam vocal take though. Makes you wonder what was going on in Capitol Studios that week.

Love Like a Bomb is pretty great, but When I'm In Need is just a cut above. The chorus, the coda, everything.

Highlight of the MSG gig for me. When this thread popped up that was the first thing I thought of. Surprised voting is that close. Love Like a Bomb wins for me.

Wouldn't call either of these tracks "throwaway".. both are highlights on their respective albums for me. Interesting that they're both co-Germ written, I always seem to enjoy his input.

Think you're mixing up Gem and Iain Archer Guessing this is the chap: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iain_ArcherInteresting that the rumour of Liam working with ''snore'' Patrol were partly true. Love When I'm In Need on record and in the pub

The verses to When I'm In Need are so good. Really annoys me that we only get one professionally recorded verse on that whole song, it may be my favourite vocal on the whole album and it's over so fucking quickly.
I'd have had a few more verses in there, made the song longer and had it close the album.
Oh and When I'm In Need for me. Love Like A Bomb is a good song but it's awful on the record, sounds like a drunk demo. That type of song shouldn't be better live but is because the version on DBTT is so bad.

weird to compare the two songs anyway, here is the demo for LLAB, the vocals are a bit different, but as you can hear, Liam's voice was not at its best

Love Like A Bomb is one of only a small handful of Oasis tracks that I hate. It goes nowhere and the vocals are hideous. When I first heard When I'm In Need, I immediately thought that was how Love Like a Bomb should have sounded. It's superior in every way imaginable.

Love Like A Bomb.
That piano break in the middle is still magic. When I'm In Need isn't great IMO. The weakest song on AYW.

I have to say I used to love LLAB but hearing it now after AYW as with lots of MK2 Oasis it sounds so flat and with dreadful production. AYW is very very well produced and has a rich volume and depth about it

When I'm In Need is one of my favourites on the album, love everything about it. Do enjoy Love Like A Bomb but it's a pretty poor Liam vocal.
