It’s amazing what 6 months will do. 6 months ago Noel was clearly the only successful Gallagher post-Oasis. Two well received, safe albums and sold out tours. Liam and Deb crafted the perfect comeback. “The Last True Rockstar”. He took calculated risks playing all of the new songs. Distancing himself from being Oasis without the songwriter. Further he wrote and collaborated on a top record. Became a calmer, still cool, interview. And he “played the game”. He will have a smash record and is positioned for a very strong solo career. Noel on the other had has taken a risk. One that I hope pays off. But his song writing is weaker than I would like to see. The first single is fine. But is a pop song that is not a classic in any way. He covered it with twiddling sounds of David. The first 4 albums of Noel’s songwriting are amazing. Some say it was the drugs. I say it was The Real People. Post SOTSOGs song writing is not very inspired and his live shows are even worse. I respect that he made a fortune and wrote 4 of my favorite records of all time. But he is now 50 rich and uninspired. Liam had found his under dog and ripped out a killer second act. Exciting. I believe the next couple of years are Liam’s to take lead on.

I think it's better that Noel took a risk - I don't want another safe album from him - it would be boring. Liam already has one. Two different albums - now we're talking! Someone won't like this album but it doesn't bother me... More good songs for me!

I am so happy that both Gallaghers give us great music at the moment. Liam released a pretty strong album with no filler track. It will be a comercial triumph in the UK, so happy for Liam. Noel took a risk and left his comfort zone. I respect him a lot for this and I think he will release a great album next month. After his last two very successful records, he does not have to prove anything to anyone. He can do his thing, and I absolutely trust his instincts.

Here we go again. Aw.
Edit:before anyone jump on me, the thread title annoys me, that's all. I really enjoy Liam's album and I like Noel's new single, so for me it's never been "Liam vs Noel 2017", but it's been "Liam + Noel" until Oasis split and now "Liam - Noel". It's not forbidden to love and support both of them, is it?

If the Real People were so fucking good then why dont i hear any of their songs coming close to Noels?
Yes, they helped but lets not pretend that they are anywhere near the absolute genius of Noel.

I just hope this thread won't get messy. It's pretty much guaranteed that this thread will end in an absolute disaster, like always.

Why is this in the Liam section? Do we need another one for Noel?
