Why start another thread ? Why do you need the attention ? You don’t like it - fine. Post on one of the existing threads then. Not everyone will like it but the attention seeking thread is a joke As you said to others. It’s too early to rate and come back to rate it in 2 weeks to rate it (as you said) 2 days later and you’re slating it ! I have listened to this album for at least 6-8 hours during the last two days and before that dozens of times to the singles so I think I can already judge the songs fairly. And yes, I said 'ask me again in two weeks', but I also said 'maybe some songs will grow on me' but I honestly don't think this will happen. And I started a thread becaus everyone here seems to think this album is a masterpiece. I wasn't aware there were threads like this.

Didn't need a thread of it's own. Pillock.

DGSS was dog shit while this is a fresh sounding record with Liam on top form and I'd never thought I'd say that again. I've seen posts recently with complaints about Noel daring to listen to Kanye West and now people whinging about not getting their fix of "rock n roll"
There's more to life than the missionary position.

There’s a huge thread about the album. There’s also a thread for what you like about the album and another one for people who aren’t keen on it.
Like you haven’t seen those. Like I say you moan at people for their OTT 10/10 reviews and you say give it a few weeks and then your ‘I need some attention’ thread appears ! Come on

And thats fair enough and its sad for you more than anyone that you wont get enjoyment out of something you were looking forward to. Nobody expected every single person to like it but it looks like plenty do and its been an incredible success for Liam.

Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it's certainly better than Beady Eyes second album but I think I have to say I prefer their first album over 'As you Were'. At least DGSS was Rock n Roll directly in your face, while AYW isn't too good with the RnR tunes. It's a very pop album and has too many mediocre 'ballads', I just think the albums consistency overall feels really, really weird and off for a Liam Gallagher album. I like a few songs but listening to the record just makes wanna listen to the Oasis classics or Noel's latest record again. Of course there are a few good songs on it (I think they did a perfect job releasing Wall of Glass as the first single because IMO it's by far the best song) and I think some of them will grow for me but I just don't think anything on this album will play a role in my life in first years from now (probably not even in two) because it's just not that good. Even the better songs are like 7,5/10 tops...Realizing this disappointment made me really bewildered... I guess Liam was right when he sung It's all really sad. Oasis was such an outstanding, once in a life time band but it's just fucking over. The magic is gone and lies only in the past. Even with a reunion I think it would never be the same.. I think this must be sort of what people felt back when the Beatles split up... So frustrating. Is it really 'only' the music? Or is it ME? Or the times that have changed? I don't know... As you weren't. i respect your opinion 100 percent ... but to be fair... i think that if you are going to compare 'as you were' to albums like 'definitely maybe' and 'wtsmg' then surely you are going to be nothing but disappointed?

But 3 of The Beatles went onto make some amazing solo albums. That's hopefully what we're getting now from Liam and Noel - get some perspective and enjoy this for what it is! Or you know, don't.

Worst thing for me is Liam sings "I'm going ropey dope" rather than "Rope-a-Dope" on Greedy Soul. Someone should've got him told

Ok, having listened to the album three times all the way through today, and after spending ungodly amounts of time spot-checking my favorites, here's what I really hate about As You Were:
It doesn't include "Eh La".
Sort your shit out, Liam.

Greedy Soul and You Better Run need to be more electric. I can also imagine I Never Wanna Be Like You being fast and loud.
He wants to be the king of rock and roll but there isn't too much of that on here (personally I have no issue with this as his voice suits slower songs these days).
Can't wait for LP2 with Eh La!

The only thing wrong with this album is they didn't hype Come Back To Me more. What an absolute tune. Should be a regular in the live set.

So, until the proper Eh La studio take, let's party with the live one
Just added this live bit as the bridge tune between Universal Gleam and I've All I Need on As You Were mp3 playlist to play on my car stereo, and it sits there pretty
Btw, did anyone notice that All My People - All Mankind has the same rhythm and intro guitar (though the key down) as Eh La?

Wall of Glass – The parts distract from the whole. The guitar solos oppose the established tempo and repeating ‘Wall of Glass’ for emphasis is weird since it is not more meaningful hearing it a second time. Paper Crown – Sounds like a weak Jet song. Musically it sounds rather pleasant and Liam’s voice is great, but the magic is dispelled with the lyrics. You Better Run – Lord Don’t Slow Me Down (If you haven’t drawn the connection, good luck forgetting it now that you know it’s there.) Chinatown – Would make a beautiful instrumental. It is the worst example of vague pop culture references masquerading as insight in recent memory. Come Back To Me – It is like the Jekyll & Hyde version of a rock and roll song and a ballad. A monster ballad. It’s confusing and not in a good way. It is a track you will learn to ignore as it does nothing but meander. I’ve All I Need – How many rock ‘n’ roll clichés can be jammed into four minutes? Liam thinks he can double that. Doesn’t Have To Be That Way – Liam’s foray into dance music. The end result is as bad as the idea. Not so much a bonus track as a punishment for something. I don’t know what I did to deserve this, it doesn’t have to be this way… I Never Wanna Be Like You – ‘Want some, got some goo ga joob. What a bummer, if they only knew. Fanboys, make noise.’ Another ill-fated foray into nursery rhymes for Liam Gallagher. He’s grown up a lot since Little James, but this is just Don’t Brother Me content – possibly the worst Gallagher composition of all time.
