Can't get enough of Come Back To me. How can a song sound so old school yet modern at the same time

All the hallmarks of the poppy Britpop bands of the 90s....Elastica et al
Jangly and whirling guitars, catchy melodies, simplicity, and clear production.

Intro and verses on I Get By. Love that guitar sound.
Also, the solo on Come Back To Me. Just messy in a really cool way.

It's clearly inspired by the artists Liam has always loved, but for the first time Liam goes beyond those inspirations.

Bought the album and loved it. Feels to me like Liam really pushed himself to try different things with his vocal style, it's easily some of the best studio work he has done IMO. Some really cracking tunes that are among the best either Gallagher has turned out since Oasis. I'd love to see this hit number 1, I feel the approach of Liam and his team to recording and marketing the album, and reinventing Liam as a solo artist, really deserves it.

In the middle of my first listen! Loving When I'm In Need, Wall Of Glass, For What It's Worth, Come Back To Me, and Chinatown so far.

Outside of the single releases, looking just at the recordings which haven't been publicly released before, there are some absolutely amazing vocal flourishes. The delivery of the lines "I won't let you down" in Universal Gleam (higher than when he does it live) and "Trying to make a scene" in Come Back To Me come to mind. Come Back To Me has been a hidden gem up to now, would love to see him do that live.

Kind of like the end of all that big build up. Remember being at work in fucking January when that picture of liam went around fb with a quote from bastard no.1 on here saying "single feb, album march" or something like it was an official statement.
Fucker turned out to be biggest troll ever but was pretty damn good tbf. Least we will all be much more wary next time round.
From a purely musical perspective theres definetely room for improvement in terms of pushing boundaries and exploring new territory but if you are a Liam Gallagher fan then you cannot be anymore happy with how these 6 months have gone for him.

Liam has perfected his 'change of pace outro' song layout. We saw it with different degrees of success in Better Man, Boy With The Blues, Wigwam, Don't Brother Me, Morning Son and others... However, I don't think it had worked as good as in When I'm In Need and I've All I Need. I think him and Grech-Marguerat got them perfect this time, and they're among the highlights of the album for me.

The jagged guitar and harmonica of WOG Liam's vocals in Paper Crown (and the opening guitar - the whole song really) Lyrics of FWIW Liam sounds truly happy in I've all I Need Loving the bonus tracks - nice to have 15 tracks on the album

I liked the diversity of songs and also how they managed to make his voice sounds the best possible.
When I heard FWIW, I had my reservations. I thought it was a bit dull and feared we would get an album full of Lennon-y stuff AGAIN. Thank God that's not the case.

It doesn't have to be that way. Jesus Christ, how was this only a bonustrack? It's modern, ridiculously catchy and IMO a better song than I Get By or one of the slower ones.
Hell, it's probably my favourite.

It is proper album. Good album. And that it is what is great about it. For 45 old musicians, that's already achievement. Especially for someone who was just singer in the band for so many years and not a songwriter. We've heard so many disappointing albums from our idols in later stage of their career. Realistically speaking this album is somewhere from 6/10 to 9/10, depending on people's musical taste. I am big fan of Oasis but 90s Oasis. When I say that I don't like Paper Crown and For What It's Worth, I don't like them in the same way that I don't like Little By Little and Sunday Morning Call. That's just not my thing, I didn't become Oasis fan because of songs like that. They call them Oasissy ballads but for me they are more like Andybelly ballads or however you make adjective from his name But some people like those songs and they are certanly not shit. I can ''swallow them'' and enjoy the rest of the album. So, like I said, some people will adore this album, some will say, yeah, it's ok and that is sign of really good album, especially if talk about Rock And Roll albums in 2017. It's certanly not bad or shit. And now it's time to listen to this album as much as possible and to stop philosophizing this much and just fucking enjoy it. YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!
