Terrific news. But it does seem weird that he's getting less sales than DGSS and it being hailed as a huge achievement.

Liam around 55000 sales in its first day...Liam is selling a lot more...and these are an incredible number sales now in 2017. Very happy for Liam. He should be very proud

Just had a look her album is out 2 weeks before Noels.I reckon elvis is the threat he is releasing a deluxe edition the same day as Noel and we all know he’s got a big fan base. I found that funnier that I should have. Quite prolific for a dead man.

55.000? Does this number include both Downloads and CD's? And how does this compare to Noels two albums?

The source for this is Daily Star so don't know if it's true: "LIAM GALLAGHER is set for a huge No.1 album after selling more than the rest of the chart’s top 75 combined." "The former Oasis star shifted over 55,000 copies of his debut solo record As You Were in just one day. His nearest competitor is The Darkness, who are currently sitting in second place with 4,000 sales. Liam’s numbers include a huge 40,000 from people who pre-ordered the critically acclaimed record." Good for Liam, that's a really good amount of sales these days but how bad is it that someone can be sitting second place with only 4000 sales? You wouldn't have made a dent in the charts with that in the past

Apparently Noel's first album did 55,000 also in the first 2 days, over 122,000 in the first week. Chasing Yesterday did 89,000 in the first week. Worth remembering this was before Apple Music was about. There was other streaming services available then and Spotify was already huge but Apple Music have also got a large amount of subscribers now. Liam's numbers are very good when you take things like this into account. There's just more alternatives now to actually buying the album than there was even a couple of years ago and more and more people getting into streaming services etc.

Man this is the best news ever. He's seriously on top of the world right now. So fucking happy for him. Surely this means we'll get a second album 👏🏻

I'm pretty sure these initial figures were just actual sales, physical and download because 40,000 were pre-orders apparently.

No matter how many Liam sells, I always find it a bit disappointing he didn’t write the bulk of the album, altho of he had it would be awful.

I like half of the album, it’s a good effort better than expected.

Haha, either he's trolling or just hasn't bothered to read up on anything regarding the album. Just ignore him, it's easier

Just basing on that chart graph thing, hopefully Liam’s album sells well over time, not sure it’ll have legs but first weeks sales promising, which you’d expect as it’s his first solo and he’s had to promote 24/7.
