I've always liked the single artwork cover to Don't Go Away, featuring the old Liverpool Speke Airport, but does anyone know who actually designed it? Was it Brian Cannon? There is very little written about this, and certainly never heard Cannon mention it, so wondered if it was designed by someone else?

ahh ok. Thanks
Considering Canon/MSJ often go on the record to big up their work on the Oasis sleeves, giving us lots of insights into how and why they chose to shoot a particular subject, I wonder why neither of them have ever mentioned this one.
I've noticed the Masterplan cover doesn't often get talked up much either, yet that and DGA would be the last things Cannon would ever do for the band, up until the 2016 NG rethink of DYKWIM.

The Masterplan gets talked about in Supersonic: The Oasis Photographs. Yes, forgot about that. Still cannot understand why DGA doesn't get talked about though, as it is actually one of the best Oasis covers.

Oasis should have never stopped working with Brian Cannon.

Yes I know that, my question was why was it released as a single only in japan and not anywhere else My guess is that it was originally planned as the 4th UK single (the same way DM and WTS had 4 singles), but by this stage Noel was too up his own arse, hungover on coke binges, and couldn't be bothered to write another couple of B sides. Helter Skelter was probably going to be the 4th track on the DGA single, but Noel needed another 2 more tracks. It hints at Noel not being arsed anymore to write further B sides from BHN in Paolo Hewitt's book Forever the people - Six months on the road with Oasis. So the ideas was canned, and DGA was then just released as a limited edition Japanese single with additional tracks that had been released before, saving a burnt out, jaded Noel not having to pick up his guitar again. Which is a shame, because (I got) the Fever was most likely the last thing he ever knocked up during the BHN phase, and it shows even back then that a half arsed Noel could still write amazing tunes during this period, even if he dismisses this B side track as nothing more than a filler that supposedly cheated the fans. Only in your head, Noel.

I've asked Brian about this sleeve a while back. This sleeve location was actually chosen by MSJ. While the location was chosen by MSJ the sleeve was a microdot creation. All other locations and designs were Brian`s.

Oasis should have never stopped working with Brian Cannon. I believe Cannon had some personal problems and that is why he vanished for many years.
