While that's cool and all, Oasis haven't had a chance to even come up yet. I reckon Oasis gets in on first billing. It's a lock, imo.

I hope you're right. Not that I care that much. IMO it's too American for Oasis or Blur or any band that lacks popularity in America as opposed to Britain or the rest of the world. I don't see any examples of bands in the HOF that fit that paradigm. To me Oasis are/will be the prime example of a band that deserves to be there, but isn't.

I reckon Oasis gets in on first billing. It's a lock, imo. No, it's not a lock. With that said... IMO it's too American for Oasis or Blur or any band that lacks popularity in America as opposed to Britain or the rest of the world. To me Oasis are/will be the prime example of a band that deserves to be there, but isn't. ...Oasis should definitely get in eventually, maybe as soon as 2019 when they're eligible. I live in Cleveland and I'm pretty familiar with the process. The Hall has been keeping an eye on Oasis for some time, and in fact as recently as last year they called Noel up to ask if he had any noteworthy items or memorabilia that he wanted to donate. So they're on the radar. The fact is, Oasis were THE band from '95-'98, and they will get inducted because they will be representing an entire major genre of music that the Rock Hall isn't going to ignore. The more years that pass since the band's breakup, the increased yearning for nostalgia, and the fact that Definitely Maybe and WTSMG still hold up as iconic albums makes a chance of an Oasis induction much higher than they were a decade ago.
