Felt like we were really needing a thread like this one. Well, I actually like Girls In Uniform, and from what I've seen, lots of people dislike it... can't truly feel sure about "total dislike" but yeah, I have still not seen anyone who likes it. Agree on this. Possibly my favourite Beady Eye song and pisses on the universally lauded Evil Eye from some distance. Me three. Girls in Uniform is spectactular, sounds like Simon and Garfunkel at their most psychedelic doing something off Rubber Soul. Definitely one of my favourite Beady Eye songs. Others: PYMWYMI (on its own perhaps nothign special but within the context of SOTSOG its brilliant) Soldier On (love the haunting quality that just lingers on with the harmonica and Liam's vox) Better Man (pretty decent song, its got a nice guitar groove and I like its simplicity in lyrics) Don't mind PAITM, TNOR, The Quiet Ones either. Or AGN. That one was always great live at a gig.

Get off Your High Horse Lady.
That song gets a bit of a bad rap, but it really is a party good song. Really fits the mood of that album. And iso a good bridge to falling down.

Why is Hey Now thrown in with songs that are truly terrible from the latter era? It's not the strongest Oasis song from the golden era, but it's still a damn fine tune that would be one of the best if it were released in the 2000s.

And that could be said for almost every track from 1994 to 1997 (being better than the vast majority of the 2000's work).

Yes, of course. WW, DLBIA and SMS are all in my top 10, while I would say Hey Now probably fit my top 50. But it's a good track, I wouldn't be too unhappy if I did write it

Hey Now would be on a greatest hits of post 2000 tracks. It's also catchy as hell.

Rating a lot of these on a par with 1994-1998 threatens to trivialise the greatness that went before.

Hey Now has some of the best lines of any Oasis song.
Lyrically, it's one of Noel's finest moments for me.
Issues are with the chorus, it's ok but it's a bit plodding.
And it's a bit long too I guess.
But the loop at the end doesn't annoy me, cos that verse is so good I wanna hear it again.

I like "Who put the weight of the world on my shoulders?"; the production could be better on the choruses but the melody is great, it would have made a great b-side but sadly everyone overlooks it since it's been relegated to the soundtrack of a movie.
I also find "Street fighting man" terrific: the saturation on the guitars is perfect, fits the menacing tune & Liam is on top form on vocals!

I was just listening to the song the other day in my car and thought that is just sounded horrible. I love the energy but its productions is just way too rough for my liking.
