In thinking about bands like the Pistols and the La's, they only had one album. That got me thinking... What if there were only one oasis record? I know if Definitely Maybe were the only album, the band would've lived on as legendary, but that takes no effort. I challenge any fans to take 12 oasis tracks any era and make an album that would surpass any existing album and satisfy you as a listener if they were the only oasis tunes you had. When I tried it I came up with a list I would not have expected. I figured it'd be Noel-heavy but poring over tracks I found myself associating the band's sound with Liam's voice. The songs I chose are primarily Noel's and I was unconcerned with democratic distribution (Andy got no songs on there). I am genuinely interested to see what makes your list with these constraints in mind.
My list is as follows:
1. D'You Know What I Mean? 2. Hello 3. Supersonic 4. Underneath The Sky 5. Born On A Different Cloud 6. A Bell Will Ring 7. I Hope, I Think, I Know 8. Go Let It Out 9. Stay Young 10. I Believe In All 11. Hey Now! *[Untitled Track] 12. (As Long As They've Got) Cigarettes In Hell
*I cheated a bit and stuck in the Swamp Song excerpt that follows Hey Now! on WTSMG. I know it is technically 13 tracks, but I needed it.

As I suck in making fictional tracklists, setlists etc., I just made a chronological one.
1. Live Forever 2. Listen Up 3. Whatever 4. Don't Look Back In Anger 5. Acquiesce 6. D'You Know What I Mean 7. Go Let It Out 8. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 9. The Importance of being idle 10. The Turning 11. Falling Down
To hell with the songwriting democracy! And I cheated a bit, but whatever.

Brilliant, I will make some of these and see how they sound. Remember you have the entire catalogue at your disposal (and as forum members, I refuse to believe you don't have every recording).

I don't understand, do we have to include a song or two from each era, or are we just arranging our 12 favourite tracks into something like a coherent album?

Oasis only has one record. It's called Be Here Now. (In the voice of Stephen Fry)- Oooh Flatulence Panic I'm so sorry! But no, although it is a common misconception amongst noted Oasis community luminaries such as Beady’s Here Now , mystoryisgory and others, Be Here Now is in actual fact the third album by the legendary British musical act... now onto the next question, has there been a worse producer for Oasis than D. Sardy?"

We do the damage, kid.

I don't understand, do we have to include a song or two from each era, or are we just arranging our 12 favourite tracks into something like a coherent album? A coherent album is the goal rather than a singles collection or greatest hits. You don't have to include songs from different eras but you have the entire oasis catalogue to choose from in making one grand album that you love. The end all be all album that would keep you as fan even if no other oasis albums existed.
