mystoryisgory , you're the forums other pop correspondent, what do you make of the new Gaga song? This song is pop correspondent approved. How can a song have as much 00s/10s nostalgia as it does 80s nostalgia? Poker Face and Just Dance came out 12 years ago, Bad Romance 11, and Born This Way 9 years ago!!! Damn I feel old.... Stupid Love isn't quite Gaga's best song, but it has filled a void in my life I never knew existed. Thanks.

I'm sure some people on this forum will appreciate this one.
Great song by Les Innocents.

Sounds like a nice throwback to when pop was a lot more colourful and optimistic, before Lana came along and made even sunlight feel melancholy. I like unpretentious it is for a big comeback single, too, straight to the point with a big bassline and relentless hook. It'll be interesting to see how well it fares commercially in the era of Billie Eilish's sad, whispered pop.

The Twang are criminally underrated - both on here and everywhere for that matter.

I love this Coldplay fan's description of all their albums as drinks. We should do something similar for Oasis!
Parachutes: A cup of coffee. Cozy, warm and reassuring. Something that can help you get through even the toughest days.
AROBTTH: Sparkling Water. Classy, cold, clear and desolate. Almost hard to drink but you can’t get enough of it.
X&Y: Soda? I’m honestly not sure.
Viva la Vida: Fine wine. Dark, artistic, sophisticated. Regarded as the finest there is, full of originality and variety.
Prospekt’s March: A Glass of Water.
Mylo Xyloto: An energy drink. Bouncy, bubbly and energetic. Makes you feel like you are on top of the world!
Ghost Stories: Iced Cold Brew. Provides the comfort of Parachutes without the sweetness. Cold, dark and bitter, but also soothing and beautiful.
AHFOD: A Slurpee on a hot summer day. Fun, carefree, and childlike. The kind of thing you drink without a care in the world.
Everyday Life: Bourbon or Whisky. Same sort of sophistication as Viva, but with a warmer, more bitter taste

The bonus songs from Souvlaki are amazing. Missing You, So Tired, Moussaka Chaos, Good Day Sunshine, etc.
Moussaka Chaos seems to be a totally reworked remix of Souvlaki Space Station but I don't know much about the other tracks. They're more electronic and most of them with a proper dance beat.

@driver7, So Tired is incredible. I wrote a post about it some time ago... what a tune. Slowdive are fucking incredible and so fucking underrated. This one, So Tired, always hits me pretty hard. D'you know when you're five seconds into a song and you already know that you're going to love it? The very first chord here may be only a standard, slightly distorted, big E but it is strummed with such a passion and a tension... it feels like you can touch the pain which permeates the whole song. It's just four chords soaked in a cavernous reverb, coupled to Rachel Goswell's ethereal vocals... but man, it's the sound of melancholy and winter rain and late night thoughts and unfulfilled dreams and disillusion.

Can someone who likes Pixes explain to me what the fuck does the lyric of Debaser mean? lol It's referring to an old surrealist movie 'Un Chien Andalou' in which some woman's eye is cut open with a razor... He wants you to know!

Spot on description. The quadraverb effect on Neil's guitar permeates into a deep trip of a wandering consciousness on a late night after far too many drinks and/or drugs.

I still can't believe I managed to find one for 50€ used. One of the best purchases I've done!

This year is starting to look pretty good for new albums; Slowdive, possibly JAMC, Parquet Courts in studio, Fontaines DC and probably lots of others I'll enjoy.

Pearl Jam just canceled their entire USA tour slated to start next week due to Coronavirus fears and safety. Had tickets for MSG. Total bummer but it makes sense. They won’t be the last band to postpone their tour plans. Europe tour will be bagged next by PJ.

Get on this mental new tune from Haru Nemuri. It's like futuristic Japanese rap shoegaze pop.

Alright, latest playlist is "Summer Evenings". I'm looking for tunes of a slightly languid, slow-burning nature to soundtrack those last rectangles of sunlight on a lazy July evening. Here's the playlist I have so far:
1. Venice Bitch - Lana Del Rey 2. Cocoa Butter Kisses - Chance the Rapper 3. Cast No Shadow - Oasis 4. Thinking of a Place - The War on Drugs 5. Mambo Sun - T Rex 6. Sunflower - Post Malone 7. Rabi - Bon Iver 8. Put Your Money on Me - Arcade Fire 9. We Never Change - Coldplay 10. People Always Look Better in the Sun - Soko 11. Gone Gone / Thank You - Tyler, the Creator 12. Nights - Frank Ocean
All suggestions appreciated.
