Think that the second album is very good. Just listened to it in its entirety with bonus tracks the other day. I rate it highly. It could be one of them albums in about 20 years time people go back to it and actually appreciate it more that they did at the time. Like a forgotten gem. Yeah, I agree with you. I've always loved the second album from them it certainly has some great little gems on there and it's a shame that the album didn't do as well as hoped.

I know Standing On The Edge Of The Noise is a bit shit but it doesn't stop me enjoying it. Had it blasting in the car yesterday "GET MEEE, I GOT YYYUOOUUUU".

Flick Of The Finger is a top tune and certainly one of Beady Eye's best songs.

Still think BE is one of the best post-oasis albums by anyone in the band.
DGSS was basically a cliche'd pastiche, great outlet musicians with no artistic merit to back it up. Liam's damaged voice was so filtered and used in a lower range than ever. BE at least stripped it right down and felt more sincere/authentic. The production was exceptional too. Theres a lot of class to the songs and how they ebb and flow from one to the next.
Really good stuff imo but I can see why the first album would've soured the taste for listeners. I still come back to BE from time to time. Probably in the minority in this opinion here since Beady Eye being a bit shit has become part of the Liam comeback narrative.
For me DGSS was the only thing that was cast-iron shit barring two or three songs.

Yeah, agreed. And, I remember buying the original vinyl from Norman's Records at the time.

It's 11 years ago today since Beady Eye released The Roller single. I remember the video that they did for that single.

Never understood the hate for Second Bite of the Apple. Fun little tune, there's far worse Beady Eye singles.

One of the better things they did really.
One of the few Beady Eye songs I like.

It was 11 years ago yesterday since Beady Eye released Millionaire as a single. That's another song which I've always liked by them.

Listening to BE right now and really like the flow. Thats really a record that deserved better. Maybe it does not have the singles but as an album its great, which I prefer by miles.

I still think Evil Eye is a total classic and such a shame its just hidden away for most people never to be heard of before
And also Off at the Next Exit, always think that'll be an amazing outro song for a film or something
Good tunes

Sorry if this has been covered many times before but can anyone point me to any good quality boots from the BE tour? I mean full electric bands, not the acoustic sessions. I'm curious to hear how they approached the material from the second album electrically.

One thing that's always amazed me concerning Beady Eye is how DGSS is seen as the bad album on Live4ever forum and the thing that buried them. Yet whenever i talk to any Oasis fans in person they always say they liked the first album but not the 2nd. I don't think we quite appreciate how songs like The Roller, Four Letter Word and Morning Son went down a lot better than stuff like Second Bite and Iz Rite.
I actually think the 2nd album's poor sales were down to it not being as liked. Despite it clearly being a more modern sounding record than the 1st.

BE has some of the worst songs on any Gallagher related project, but the album has some of my favourite production from them.
