Oh, we're doing old albums we've heard for the first time as well?
In that case: Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols Pulp - Different Class T. Rex - Electric Warrior; The Slider; Tanx Black Sabbath - Paranoid The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me; A Head On The Door The La's - The La's (Might have been 2014, can't really remember) The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses (again, same as above) The Kinks - The Village Green Preservation Society David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World
And I've listened to a lot of greatest hits compilations as well - namely Bob Dylan's and Bob Marley's.

Manic Street Preachers - Futurology --- blindly bought and loved at first listen Gesaffelstein - Aleph --- shazamed "Pursuit" last year at Kasabian's concert and finally bought the album this year Radiators - Ghostown --- by rediscovering my beloved Pogues, as this was Philips Chevron's band

Gene - Olympian -- good enough to be regarded as a classic, but somehow I hadn't heard of them before Kingmaker - Sleepwalking The Holloways - So This Is Great Britain Jet - Get Born Pigeon Detectives - Wait For Me (I see a lot of people shitting on these guys, but as far as MOR indie rock goes, they have some really nice tunes) Yeti - The Legend of Yeti Gonzalez Teenage Fanclub - Bandwagonesque (another great and underrated band)

That's a real shame, not only for you lot missing out on a genuinely great album, but also the band as well. But I'm sure, if they keep on as they are, they'll get a bit more exposure in the coming years. Could always lend you my copy in the meantime, if you like?

I've probably heard quite a few old albums this year, but the ones I've actually bought are: The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico [1967] Fugazi - Repeater [1990] My Bloody Valentine - Loveless [1991] Sugar - Beaster [EP] [1993] Sugar - File Under Easy Listening [1994] Massive Attack - Mezzanine [1998] Queens Of The Stone Age - Rated R [1999] Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels [2013] Superfood - Don't Say That [2014] Aphex Twin - Syro [2014] There's a fair bunch of 2015 records I still haven't brought so I'll stick them on next year's list.

Ah I remember discovering those bolded albums for the first time. Magical experiences blasting Loveless on my headphones. Still nothing sounds like it. Shields guitar playing is just warped madness. That Velvet Underground record is a top five album of all time for me. It still blows my mind sometimes just how ahead of its time it was/is. Very dynamic group of songs as well. Sunday Morning is wonderful bliss, whereas Venus in Furs is legit terror. Massive Attack, QOTSA, and Aphex Twins are all wonderful acts as well, but I just don't really love them but I really appreciate the artistry of those three. Run The Jewels just continue to get better.

Only 4-5 Holy Holy songs are available in the USA iTunes store. "You Cannot Call for Love Like a Dog" being the best of them. It was released in April 2015. No other songs since. So strange. I really dig the late 70s Pink Floyd guitars.

I really enjoyed the b-sides to Some Girls by the Rolling Stones......amongst the best music I've heard in a long time....
'Do You Think I Really Care?', 'Claudine', 'No Spare Parts', 'Tallahassee Lassie', etc....

I've been reading Rip It Up And Start Again this year (excellent book, I recommend it) so I've been discovering loads of post punk.
Highlights:
Devo - Are We Not Men
The Slits - Cut

In no order :
Cotton Mather- Kontiki (1997) The Zombies - Odyssey and Oracle (1968) Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV (1971) Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde (1966) Bob Dylan - The Times They're a-Changin' (1964) Neil Young - On The Beach (1974) The La's - The La's (1990) The Coral - Roots and Echoes (2007)
And some others...
By the way, if you're a Beatles fan (more precisely of the Revolver-era), listen to that "Kontiki" album by Cotton Mather. It's a highly underrated album !

-Most of Pink Floyd's albums (only knew the hits and Dark Side of the Moon before that) -Syd Barrett's solo albums -The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths -Electric Warrior by T. Rex-Behind The Music by The Soundtrack of our Lives -Astral Weeks by Van Morrison -Daisies of the Galaxy by Eels And probably a few others I forgot. You heard the one he did after that, The Slider? Some good tunes on it. Tanx is really great in places an' all, though it suffers massively from 20th Century Boy and Children of the Revolution being left off (now I know why Noel said Bolan was a big influence on him...)
