I don't know if this applies to anyone else, but a lot of the songs that I would consider my favourites are songs that I know are not some of their best, but I just love anyway. I was wondering do people have any strange favourites that wouldn't be some of Oasis' finest work but it just resonates with them?
My Favourites
1. The Importance of Being Idle 2. Go Let it Out 3. Falling Down 4. Live Forever 5. Where Did It All Go Wrong 6. D'you Know What I Mean 7. My Big Mouth 8. Morning Glory 9. Turn Up The Sun 10. Roll it Over
So as you can see its a strange list missing many classics like Chanpagne Supernove, DLBIA, RNRS, Listen Up etc. Does anyone else have a top 10 which they know is missing classics, but they just prefer certain songs to others?

This is difficult, because I think it's almost impossible to be objective about it. What makes a song a good song? Is Wonderwall one of their best because it was and remains one of their biggest hits? What if you think your favourite is good? Wouldn't it be weird if you had a favourite but thought it wasn't a good song?

I think that question makes perfect sense, because most of my favorite songs won't be anyone else's, I guess. Surely, songs like "Live forever" or "Slide away", etc. are among their best and I do love them, but there are others that just mean more to me.
From the top of my head, ranking more or less random:
1. Morning Glory 2. Bring it on down 3. Take me 4. Alice - I know the lyrics are a bit daft, but I love the melody 5. Guess God thinks I'm Abel 6. Born on a different cloud 7. Acquiesce 8. My big mouth 9. Fade in-out 10. Gas panic!

Mine are quite boring really, all the usual suspects, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back In Anger, Live Forever, Supersonic etc., but I have always had a massive soft spot for some of the Be Here Now tunes, such as Be Here Now itself and The Girl In The Dirty Shirt, which I think is just a gorgeous tune.

Wouldn't it be weird if you had a favourite but thought it wasn't a good song? I completely get what you're saying. I suppose an example from my list would be Turn Up The Sun; by no means Oasis' best work but it's a tune I just love listening to. Is it better than DLBIA? Not a chance, because everyone can recognise that DLBIA is a masterpiece, but I just rather listening to turn up the sun cause it's a tune I prefer. I dunno, it's a weird concept, but one I've always found myself thinking about.

It still staggers me that its nearly 6 minutes long, it doesn't feel like it at all. I love everything about it: the drums, the guitar stabs, the slide guitar in the chorus... I mean, the pre-chorus is a stronger than most bands choruses! The bit of the song where Liam finishes the first actual chorus with "She knows exactly what she's worth, she knows exactly what she's worth to meeeeeeeeee", over just Noel's guitar and a tambourine to keep time, is one of my favourite ever Oasis moments - a wonderfully crafted pop song.

The last chorus and piano that comes in for the outro might be my favourite bit. Ace piano.

Always nice to hear Bonehead, especially on that album, when he spends the rest of the time being drowned out by Noel's lead guitar. Whether live shows or another album, if Oasis ever do get back together, I definitely definitely want Bonehead to be there. Whitey was only good for a few years, and Guigs was obviously appalling, so the rest of the line-up from the glory years I'm not arsed about, but the Bone's gotta feature in some way, no doubt about it.

The likes of My Big Mouth, Bring It On Down and Underneath The Sky would be in my Top 10.
Whilst Champagne Supernova certainly wouldn't be.

In alphabetical order and not in numbered order, cos it'd be too tough. It's annoying really, cos the likes of DLBIA, Morning Glory and Slide Away in some periods I absolutely adore. But I've gone with these 10 right now. -------------------- Acquiesce Bring It On Down Do You Know What I Mean Gas Panic Live Forever My Big Mouth Some Might Say Supersonic The Turning Underneath The Sky

Not a very exciting list. Almost looks like a greatest hits list. Honourable mentions to Some Might Say, Columbia, Born On A Different Cloud, Live Forever and The Masterplan.

1. Live Forever 2. Whatever 3. Slide Away 4. Champagne Supernova 5. Don't Look Back In Anger 6. Supersonic 7. Listen Up 8. Some Might Say 9. Talk Tonight 10.Half The World Away
Not a lot of surprises but here are my ten favourites. Wonderwall, DYKWIM?, Rock'n'Roll Star, Acquiesce, The Masterplan, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Rockin Chair, Morning Glory, etc, are missing.
I am quite fond of some underrated b-sides (Going Nowhere, Take Me Away), and some BHN tunes (The Girl In The Dirty Shirt, It's Getting Better ( Man!!), I Hope I Think I Know )

Don't Look Back In Anger Listen Up Live Forever The Masterplan The Importance Of Being Idle Cast No Shadow Slide Away Champagne Supernova D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman? Half The World Away
Spaceman might be the only controversial choice really...and having Listen Up so high, but I genuinely think it's the second best song Noel has ever written

The only one of my favourites that isn't a classic Oasis song in some capacity would be To Be Where There's Life. Other than that, it's pretty unsurprising stuff.
