Pretty sure Liam will mention it over twitter if it bothers him so much. 'Sources close to...' Don't really cut it these days in tabloids.

whenever I read "sources close to the rocker" or something of that variation, the "bullshit" alarm starts ringing.
at the most Liam was overheard making one comment and theyve made it out like hes been sitting around with people at circular tables discussing this in great detail.

The funny thing is its such a Liam thing to say and exactly the kind of quote that would get Noel annoyed.
Certainly knows how to push his buttons more than anyone else haha

Certainly knows how to push his buttons more than anyone else haha At which point if they run true to form Noel will make some innocuous sounding comment that Liam will find the most offensive thing ever said, and the frosty atmosphere will run for that bit longer. I have moments with my brother and sister over private company business which is irritating, so I can't imagine the pressure on siblings when it's fame & money of that magnitude and all played out in the public spotlight.

Where is there not an Irish pub?
What I don't understand is why you go Dublin and its the most ridiculous prices ever for a pint!
Yet they're all pissed all the time

If he had said it he would actually have been getting a good jab in and been right in my eyes. No matter how much they offered when he heard the finished version Noel should have said no.
However as there is pretty much nothing in this the argument is irrelevant I guess.

'"Jack White has just written a song for Coca-Cola. End of. He ceases to be in the club. And he looks like Zorro on doughnuts, I don't believe in adverts. Noel said that oasis music would not be on adverts in the u.k
which even now arguably he's stood by.. I'm sure over the years he's had a million and one offers too.
Obv HFB wise he did BT and Vauxhall adsl. (and world wide oasis have been used) but his has stood by no oasis music (obv a cover is grey area but..)

If Noel hasnt got to get physically involved, its going to generate interest in his music and his bank balance increases then I expect hes all for it.
maybe he wouldnt of approved the oasis version for john lewis but there again if the moneys right.

Whatever was in a coca cola commercial too, to be fair. Also it's been used for TV commercial in Japan (Asahi Super Dry). Think that created new Oasis (younger) fans.

In fairness to Noel he possibly didn't have much of a say in the Whatever licensing, as in some territories only the music publisher or one of the songwriters needs to agree providing the other parties are also compensated. Since the settlement all those years ago Neil Innes has a co-writer credit published by EMI Music Publishers Ltd (ironically now part of Sony/ATV who publish Noel's Oasis compositions, but it is still run as a separate entity). I doubt Neil Innes or EMI in particular would have a problem with that song being licensed as often as possible That said Noel has licensed songs willingly in the past, including All Around the World for a series of AT&T commercials that aired in 2007. I think the only defence for the Jack White quote was Noel hadn't actually written a song specifically for an advert, rather he had licensed existing songs.

Oh dear. Yea writing a song for a commercial is much worse than allowing a pop star to butcher one of your own........... also " I don't believe in adverts" when he should have said "I don't believe in adverts unless they pay me a few bob and require me to do no work' To be clear while i personally don't agree with the decision i don't actually have any problem with any one making easy money. My issue is the out right hypocrisy of the comment
