What is it? A radio show? Desert Island Discs was created by Roy Plomley in 1942, and the format is simple: a guest is invited by Kirsty Young to choose the eight records they would take with them to a desert islandWeller was a guest on this show years ago too.

I'll bet he'll take four copies of Never Mind the Bollocks and four of Definitely Maybe.

Sounds interesting. Even if Noel has talked about his favourite artists and albums before, I still find it very interesting. Any bets what albums he'll include? The La's Which one is his favourite Beatles album? Any of the Smiths (iirc his favourite is Meat is Murder?) The Kinks? and maybe some unpopular psychedelic 60s band only him and Johnny Marr know of

I'm guessing he chooses at least one of his own. A Beatles one or two. Stone Roses. Something by Johnny and something by Weller.
He should pick a Beady Eye record just for the laughs.

It will be individual songs rather than albums, plus a luxury item.
Dunno whether this will be predictable or a bit more surprising than most think but its always good to hear his views on individual songs.

Kind of annoys me that they don't do albums, but the songs definitely bring another element you don't get with songs. I'm interested in hearing what Noel will have for his Desert Island Discs, and hopefully one of them isn't Pinball, with the Morrissey story arising again

What are the chances that Noel chooses "my wife" for his luxury item?

I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but I've got a sneaking suspicion that he might choose Hand In Glove.

I would like to hear Noel's view on "Sweet And Tender Hooligan". There was that interview he did some years back and he noted his favourites were (I think) Asleep, Hand In Glove, There Is A Light, Rusholme Ruffians, Rubber Ring (may have been some more). I'm always thinking 'great choice, really really great choice', but I would think the same for nearly all of them! None of their songs have ever aged or got worn out by being overplayed, they are the only band where I play their music and I still get a sense of anticipation as if it is the first time I'm listening to it.

Now answer me Noel, which version of Hand in Glove including Sandie Shaw's great cover do you love most?
