When I listen to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club I feel like that should've been the new direction for Oasis mk2.

This song came on and I immwdiately thought of this thread, and how it would sound with Liam singing it. Pretty good, was my guess. I think this is a terrible choice for an oasis cover, but I'd never heard of this band. It is fuckin' great and I downloaded the entire album immediately after listening to this song. Thank you for recommending it.

Also, Liam would have sounded immense on this: I love TSOOL but somehow associated them with Noel more than Liam (especially Tonight). Liam would sound good doing: or though

Btw, maybe "terrific" was the word you were looking for?

For the Love of Ivy and Sex Beat are also awesome Gun Club songs.
In terms of songs for Oasis to recreate, hmm... maybe something by The Jesus & Mary Chain? Snakedriver would work well on Dig Out Your Soul.

Whats interesting about the BRMC comment is I actually thought that was how HC was going to sound!
In the lead up to that album Noel was constantly saying they were going back to being a rock band after the experimental, somber SOTSOG and raw garage rock was all the rage in 2001 with Soundtrack of Our Lives, White Stripes etc. The Hindu Times demo had some of those qualities which boded well.
Then HC is realised sounding like an appalling Morning Glory era tribute band, disappointing doesn’t even come close to covering it

It's been said already, but I'd love to hear the brothers take turns on the vocals for The Drugs Don't Work.

1) Robbie Williams Feel (2002) is very HC like.
2) I always imagined Jumping Jack Flash vocals perfect for Liam:
"But it's all right* now, in fact it's a gas." *emphasis on right
Then turned out that his favourite song from British artist was the exact.
3) Same thing for DLBIA. I thought his vocals in it and some days later he performed it for the first time. Sounded what I imagined.

Nirvana's Rape Me is very suitable for Liam although he clasifies indie bands as "didily didily di".
