What do you think about the reissues? Could they have been better? What colour is around the Be Here Now reissue? DM had white, Morning Glory black.
I like the idea of it but I hate the 3th disc of Morning Glory. I think the reissue of Be Here Now wil be also white

I like them, but they could have been better for sure. I have both the reissues on CD and the packaging is great, as are the pictures inside, the quotes and the overall design of it. Annoyingly the DM one is slightly taller, but I'm a fussy guy The live tracks are quite poor, especially the ones on MG. We have plenty of bootlegs available so I don't feel the need for more live songs, but as they were officially released you would have expected something better. What I do love are the demos... hopefully we'll get the full Mustique tape on the BHN reissue. I can't fucking wait for that

Option 2. Good idea, disappointing results so far. Or maybe I'm just expecting too much, I don't know.

If I could draw on here, I'd draw a picture of a cow. I'd then draw a man aggressively milking the cow until it had no more milk to give.
The remasters themselves were unnecessary and made little difference to the songs. They boxsets were quite a good idea especially with things like the replica cassettes, although a lot of the bonus tracks could have been better. Some of the live versions were awful.

Just to fuck with us Management will be re-releasing HC, with a remix of The Cage as a real bonus, instead of BHN. Wouldn't put it past them, the fucking gold digging twats.

I like the demos on them too, and the additional mixes from DM. Can't complain about the b-sides being all there either.
Moooooo!

The first two discs on both are great. I really like the packaging as well (excluding how they fucked up the CD design).

Does anybody know where I can find the picture of Noel singing at Maine Road?

The only thing that can "save" this mess of a reissues project is finally releasing Be Here Now. The only one we truly ever wanted or needed. It better be worth it too! After that, stop with the reissues. I don't need one for SOTSOG to DOYS. Those years are too painful at times. So much promise, so much let down.

We got some nice stuff, very nice design etc...but there's some obvious things missing that should have been released. A lot depends on the BHN box I think - will they give us all the mustique demos and other good stuff? Or will it be half assed?

I picked "Nice Idea - It Could Have Been Better", but the better word would be "Should", it SHOULD have been better. It's been a real missed opportunity, and utterly disappointing.
CD 1: It's okay. Sounds a bit better. Don't know if we could expect more here
CD 2: Seeing as we have most of the tracks, what's the fucking point? Nice to have them organized and in good quality, but come on, we can do better here
CD 3: Now it's this one that pisses me right off. WHY THE FUCK do I want live recordings from random gigs? If you're going to go that route, make Disc 3 a DVD with a good gig (There and Then, Live by The Sea quality). Like what the actual fuck is going on here? No thought whatsoever. Piss poor decision.
I found Stop the Clocks (album) very fucking shoddy, too. Time Flies was good. But I do realize that both of those were not meant for the fans, but more so the future generation who discover Oasis.
But these Re-Masters were made for the fans. And other than a few "treats" sprinkled in on Disc 2, this really was a disappointment. (Mind, the booklets have been nice, hope they continue doing that. Something right, I suppose). However, there's much more in the Oasis vault, and to be intentionally milked like this is an abomination.

A re-release of DOYS with the album done right would be fucking top: The proper version of RM, STC, etc. And, most importantly, erasing the utter shite that was TNOR (and to a slightly lesser extent, AGN). Fucking disgraceful how they (Noel) fucked that album right up.

Yeah I think it would have been interesting to have Disk 1 - as it is Disk 2 - quality live gig Disk 3 - new versions of the songs, maybe covers and remixes to see how the music has influenced others or their take on it
But basically it was / is a project with very little effort or thought really. Will still get BHN and any others they release

I bought the live Demonstration tape, DM box set and MG reissue 3 CD set on my own and got a MG reissue vinyl for my birthday. After spending a lot of money for DM box set, I couldn't bother to buy a MG box set. I don't care much for the remastered versions, but it was more for my collection. The coffee table book is a nice item to have, but they could have been much better and much cheaper.
If BHN reissue ever comes, I'm not planning to pay for G-Mex, Budokan, den Bosch as "bonus" discs, the good good people from the management.

I like them, I made the plan to buy the 3CD for all of them.
They're a very satisfying package both to listen to and to hold. I don't see them as pointless, I have a couple of friends who didn't really listen to Oasis who bought the 3CDs on my recommendation - they're now Oasis fans.

I think they were a good idea (most bands re-release deluxe anniversary editions of albums) but it's been handled poorly and overall hasn't been what I'd hoped for,
When 'Chasing the Sun 94-97' was announced it seems like a more cohesive project, not just a couple of half arsed reissues. Also the constant question mark surrounding the BHN reissue is terrible. When it was announced every publication said the first 3 albums, so the ball must have been rolling, here we are 18 months after the announcement and nothing.
They had the DM exhibition but I expectd a bit more. 94-97 singles box set? Knebworth DVD? A MG or BHN DVD in the style of the DM 10 year anniversary? Or at the least what was promised in the first place.
Don't get me wrong, something is better than nothing (I actually have nothing currently as I haven't brought either re-issue) but what's worse is promising it

Yeah I voted "nice idea could have been better" It's not been great project really. Like the general consensus here I think they haven't really given enough thought to it and now the project has stalled, loosing any momentum.
I agree the choice of extra tracks have been poor overall. For instance on the DM rerelease they put an acoustic version of up in the sky from a Paris instore session on it. I think the acoustic version they recorded for the evening session on BBC radio 1 on 22/12/93 is better. I suppose they couldn't use this version because of copyright issues with BBC.
Sadly now we (myself included) are all hoping the BHN reissue will be a lot better and the mustique demos will be included, but I have a suspicion we may be disappointed. Although it has been said that the rerelease of BHN has been delayed because of the release of chasing yesterday I'm wondering if the delay will allow them to devote a bit more time to the BHN rerelease and do a better job.
