What was actually wrong about Liam's vocal? He hit every note. Never pleased. At some point he tried to change the melody a little bit and it didn't sound good, but apart from that it was a really nice perfomance,it's good to see him singing again

But he's used to doing it 100's maybe thousands of times with Noel who played it safe with his parts, Daltrey will rightly stick closer to the original and they've only worked together a few times. For what it's worth i'd have preferred more Liam than Daltrey last night as Liam sounded good IMO, not too croaky and for whatever reason I still think in the main Liam is closer to 15 years ago since the split than before it. Seems a waste him doing the odd one off like tonight

No personality. Bland as fuck. Noel should be there. Noel wouldn't go near Chris Evans. Except he did, years ago, as we saw in one of the clips. Liam sounded spot on but I come on this board and as expected the usual suspects are here having digs.

Sounded like an average cover band... that retired years ago.
Liam's singing was ok though.

It was absolutely fine! Just a group of friends having fun, it wasn't a serious performance. Liam sounded fine, Daltrey sounded fine, Bonehead looked cool as fuck, I don't know what the problem was! Better than anything most of the shit bands in the charts could do in their entire career.

Have Noel or Liam ever spoken about Ian Broudie before? I'm not sure whether the Lightning Seeds are their cup of tea.

Yep boring bastard with smert hair and earrings. Tell me Globe, what exactly does 'smert' mean? I'm guessing, as it's aimed at that boring boff Hamilton, that it's derogatory. It's like a sarcastic way of saying smart. E.g. Hiya Lewis, those are pure smert earrings you are wearing,

Liam's singing was flat and strained as always and he looked like a prick and disrespected Roger Daltrey on stage countless times.

The people slagging off the choice of My Generation are missing the point somewhat

Of course for us fans the performance and song choice was disappointing, but as someone pointed out twitter comments about him were very positive. What matters here is that the show had certain audience and Liam proved to people he still knows how to sing.
Maybe this could be positive for him and get him a record deal or future collaborations.

I know it's only one song after a very long lay off but Liam did sound splendid.

I do, unfortunately, agree with you there, but here is not the place to say it. People on here are just happy to see Liam actually doing something again, and its not like - as he has done too many times this decade - he embarrassed himself or anything. He was alright. So bugger off and let people enjoy the performance.

I watched it a few times now and yeah the performance is cool. Yesterday I was just disappointed at first, because it was My Generation, but I have to admit they did a great job.

Liam could sound as in 95-97 and people would still complain...about his hair, his clothes, the songs he sings, whatever.
He did a good job on this and its nice to see him doing a song on TV again. Im sure IF he does something new in the future its with Bonehead.

What is better, LG with a good voice but with bad haircut or a LG with a good haircut without the voice?
