Casting pearls before swine. I don't know if it's "common" enough or not but I've heard it all my life, and I'm from Pakistan, so... Really? I'm from the UK and never heard of it! Maybe that's just me.

Thanks. Are there more scans of the lyrics? What does "if love's what it's all about, it's soul I'm chopping out" on Do the Damage mean? Yes, crossfire posted all the scans. All thanks to him Thanks a lot. Still have no clue what "it's soul I'm chopping out" means.

Isn't pearls for swine a common expression in English? Yeah, "pearls before swine" is a common expression (at least in the U.S.). It's basically nonsense in the context of this song though.

I hear the line in Riverman's chorus as "When the Riverman rows"... I dunno, might just make more sense in my head due to the title of the song Damn you Noel!

I was sure for months the lyrics went "You do the damage kid". It goes to show how good my English is sometimes...

P.s. I was kinda hoping Xray Eyes went: " ...as MacGyver poured us wine"

I've always been a fan of Noel's lyrics. They're pretty strong and consistent on this album. Do wish Lock the Doors had better lyrics, but it's still a belter of a song.
March 3rd is when I finally get my good quality version of this brilliant album.
