Btw, better than nothing, but when this guy quotes “Woke up stinking on a train that was bound for Norway” as the right lyrics to TDOTL, it undermines his persona a bit.

Ebby Calvin 'Nuke' LaLoosh There is cowbell on The Mexican. Sound like TDOTL is pretty stripped back which is encouraging. Can't wait for this album. This last month has DRAGGED!

BOUND FOR NOWHERE. Think the "Stinking" part is wrong, too lol. Doesn't even sound like Noel. (Probably is "Thinking", instead of "Stinking").

"You need love just like a kid on crack"
If indeed the correct lyrics for The Mexican, I have to say, not one of Noel's better lines in his writing career.

"Woke up sitting on a train that was bound for nowhere"
That's how my ears hear it.

Fuckin' hell, this made me VERY excited. I like a lot of what I read: 'Be Here Now'-era guitars in Lock All the Doors, Brian Eno-ish synths and spaghetti western mood in While the Song Remains the Same, cowbell in The Mexican... YES PLEASE

They probably got the stream at the same time as everyone and in their desperation to get something out before everyone else they didn't bother listening to anything more than once.
So they misheard something.
A proper review will come in a week or two.

'Woke up sleeping' makes almost less sense than the Norway line IMO . But what do I know? Just like a 'bullet in the gun'...

'Woke up sleeping' makes almost less sense than the Norway line IMO . But what do I know? Just like a 'bullet in the gun'... I suppose grammatically it would have to "woke up from sleeping on a train that was bound for nowhere." At least that is the interpretation that I got. I think it's fm definitely what I hear in the soundcheck version. May make less grammatical sense but it infinitely more poetic than "stinking on a train to Norway" But poetry and and lyrics generally sacrifice grammatical correctness to make the line scan well. Kind of funny that he is making sun and gun rhyme again. lol. It's his new favourite couplet.

Kinda bummed NME describe "Girl With X-Ray Eyes" as being similar to "If I Had A Gun". That song is boring and this tune had an exciting title that made me think of David Bowie.

"Oasis die-hards are going to go nuts for this one. Gallagher first started working on the track 23 years ago. Its ‘Be Here Now’-era fizz of guitars are more than worth the wait here, powering to a stomping adrenaline-packed finale."
I'm officially hyped for Lock All The Doors. Mr. Gallagher don't disappoint.
