"I can't live in a world where Ed Sheeran is headlining Wembley" - Quote of the year.

say what you want, if you're playing 3 sold out shows at wembley, you're doing something right. fair play to the lad

I don't mind Ed Sheeran music. No, it isn't challenging or daring. But it's melodic.
There are many things more worthy of scorn on the radio.
And to be honest I think it's pretty bad form after Sheeran was nice enough to not wiggle out of agreeing to play the TCT. Noel said that much closer friend of his reneged.
Both the Gallaghers can sometimes be pretty hyperbolic in their hate of things. It sometimes makes them sound like crochety old men.

I agree. Don't see the appeal with Ed at all.

It is a huge achievement and good for him but it doesn't mean his music is any good. There is a lot of worse music but he's kind of typical of the bland, soulless taste of the general public at the moment. It's sad that none of the bands that have came out in the past ten years can come close, maybe the Arctic Monkeys could do one night but that's about it.

Don't really like his style. Too much focus on vocals. It's very run of the mill.

He's not that bad. At least he can sing and play a guitar, very rare gifts among chart-topping artists nowadays.
There's much, much worse on the radio. He's not great, but still listenable.

Yeah nothing wrong with Ed Sheeran. Not really a fan of his music but he's clearly talented and it's really impressive how big he's got in the last 3/4 years, last year particularly.

I dont think Noel is having a direct pop at Ed or is music, more like stating the fact that is act(Pop like) is playing a stadium.

Loving how much those teenage girls in the UK are saying "OMG OMG Ed is better than you, gallagher you're nothing, you're irrelevant, 1-0 Ed bla bla" and in 4/5 years actually they'll listen to Oasis.
Anyway, if you ask me to describe Ed Sheeran's music with 1 word that would be "Boring".

Most of his songs are pretty boring, but some are alright. Saw him live and he was actually great. He did everything himself with just his guitar, his voice, handclaps and a looping machine. Pretty awesome.
The ending was a bit weird though. He just walked off when the song was still going and people thought he was going to get something, but he didn't come back.

say what you want, if you're playing 3 sold out shows at wembley, you're doing something right. fair play to the lad That just means that you've succeeded in playing to the least common denominator. You'll never go broke underestimating the bad taste of the public.

I don't really care for his music, although his latest one has grown on me to be fair. But he writes his own stuff and plays the guitar, he deserves respect just for that. Not the best looking lad you'll ever see either but he's made a name for himself and fair play to him i say.
Not bad for a ginger nut...

When I heard Noely had slagged off Ed Sheeran, I thought it was a bit of a dick move, as he not long ago praised the lad for doing the TCT gig he curated, and he does genuinely seem like a decent fella, unlike most of Noel's targets (ie One Direction and the Kaiser Chiefs). However, when I read what he actually said, just that he was shocked the guy could headline Wembley, I too read that news for the first time and had the same reaction as Noel. Fair play to him I suppose, but It's a sorry tale indeed when someone of such shocking mediocrity can draw in crowds of 80,000. Pick any other decade since Elvis, apart from the one we live in today, and that lad would NOT be attracting such a mass of people. It's getting desperate now... We need one great band to come in and be huge and turn the music business upside down, ushering in a new "scene" of great music
